media volume not working [#11883]

Post by guigui42 »

Hi,
I am using nexus 5, running kitkat .
I was using other media players without any problems but with mediamonkey, I can't control the media volume during playback.
Using the hardware volume buttons does change the media volume, but it has no effect on media monkey playback.

Which means I cannot use it without destroying my ears ;)

Thanks--I assume you mean that the h/w volume switch doesn't work when the screen is locked (it works for me when it's not locked).

Tracked at: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11883

Nope, not the same exact problem :
With the screen on , using the h/w volume switch, the volume panel is displayed correctly as usual, but it has no effect on the actual sound played by MMA.
Same problem when the screen is Off : cannot change the volume.

But using other media players, I have no issues.

I found a little tricky work-around, by starting another music player, starting then stopping the music, leaving it open, then switch to MMA and play the music.
By doing this, I can effectively change the volume on MMA.

Using MMA 1.0.4.0227

Nexus 5
Android 4.4.2
CM 11

I forgot to mention that neither volume UP or DOWN work...

This should be fixed in build 230+ (to be posted shortly).

Please confirm whether or not the fix works for you.

Thanks.

Just tried the new version.
Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue.

I still cannot control the volume.

Volume in Poweramp and YouTube is still working perfectly.

For information, the issue is not related to the lockscreen.

Hi,

I can't replicate this at all. Can you restart your device and then try playing tracks in MM (without starting any other apps) to see if it still occurs? I'm wondering if there's some sort of interaction with another app that's causing the problem.

Also, can you confirm whether you're just playing the music through headphones? Or are you using bluetooth with a speaker? etc...

Thanks.

I just restarted my device, and tried directly with MM , but it's still the same.

I have the problem when I use wired headphones, and also using the device speakers.

I just tried MM on my nexus 4 with CM as well, and I can't reproduce the problem either.

Maybe it's linked to nexus 5 or the Rom I'm using (Calkulin's Nexus 5 v1.1)

I'm testing on a nexus 5 running kitkat (as well as on 4 other devices running a variety of stock android versions), and can't replicate. So I'm assuming that this is a bug in the Calkulin Rom.

If anyone else is experiencing this, please comment and provide details.

Thanks.

I have MM Pro for Android running on my LG G5 cellphone. Version 1.1.3.0554 of MM. There is no volume control option on the MM screen, there was one on my Iphone. I have to use hardware buttons, which brings up the phones volume control bar for a second. Also, unrelated, when paying to update to MM Pro it would be nice for the icon to change to MM Pro so we are aware the update took place, thanks...Rob

There is no in app volume control and when installing Pro you get an Pro icon App extra, which launches the regular MMA, but with Pro features unlocked.
