Remove from now playing ... missing from Art View [#11683]
I am extremely excited about the addition of the "Remove from now playing" function.
However, I don't understand why it was only implemented in the List View.
This same option should be available in the context list for the Art View as well.
Is this a bug, or is there a reason it has not been implemented?
All the other options like "Find More" and "Set As" appear in both, but the "Remove from now playing" option is strangely absent.
Thanks,
John

Where, exactly, do you see this "remove from now playing" feature?

Re: Remove from now playing ... missing from Art View
1) Start playing any number of songs.
2) Go to list view
3) Long press on a song
4) Hit the triple dot in the top right
5) Hit the "Remove from now playing" command.
I think it is only in the Beta version at this point.
My point is that this functionality is equally (if not more) useful in the art view since I may currently be listening to a song i want to remove.
The command should definitely be available in the lower right context triple dot of the art view.

When a selection is active in the Now Playing list, there is no triple-dot icon shown (I'm looking at beta build 343). There is a Delete icon (trashcan), however, which does remove the selection from the list.creativconfusion wrote:1) Start playing any number of songs.

True, there is no Delete option here, but what are you trying to achieve that the Next button doesn't? Do you even want the current song to stop playing? If I'm removing items from Now Playing, it's so I don't hear them in the future; but I've never intentionally re-played the list in Now Playing, so removing the track that's already started doesn't gain me anything.creativconfusion wrote:My point is that this functionality is equally (if not more) useful in the art view since I may currently be listening to a song i want to remove.

Re: Remove from now playing ... missing from Art View
The trashcan functionality does more than just remove it from the now playing list.
It allows you to remove it from now playing AND remove it from the original playlist which you used to initiate youre now playing list.
For example, I'm listening to my chill playlist (on album art view) and some metal comes on, at this point i say "how the hell did this get on here?" so i tap the triple dot and tap Remove from now playing AND remove from chill playlist.
I am just saying that any now playing functionality which is available in list view should be available in album art view. There is not a good reason why I should have to go from album view back to list view just to delete a song.

I agree, it makes sense to be able to make such edits directly from the NP Art view.

Re: Remove from now playing ... missing from Art View [#1168
The tracker lists this issue as "Resolved" but it was never actually implemented.
This context item is still not available in the NP Art view.
Similarly, I noticed that the "Add to playlist" function is not available in the NP List view.
The user should be able to add and remove songs from playlists regardless of which NP view they are in.
Both the NP Art and NP List screens should show both commands.
(There are many times when i am listening to a song, or songs, and decide that they need to be added to or removed from playlists. I should be able to do this regardless of which NP screen I am in.)
Thanks!

yeah...I just wanted to complete a review of all the context menus before re-opening the bug (rather than working on it piecemeal). Anyhow, that was done recently and the issue is now open
