MediaMonkey Reboots while playing flac files

Hi,

Love MediaMonkey! I am an IT guy so I understand about ruff deployments...

Now for the problem...

I have been Using MediaMonkey for Android for about a year. I have my CD collection ripped to flac. I noticed on the wiki-help that it says that Kit Kat 4.4.2 has flac issues. I have not had a problem all year.

Since the last release, it still plays MP3s fine, but with flac it will play for a little while and then Pow! the tablet reboots. Sometimes it plays for quite awhile, but usually just a few minutes.

MediaMonkey V1.1.3.0493 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro SM-T520 Kernel version 3.4.39-4777054 Build KOt49H. T520UEUAOD1 Android 4.4.2

I will send a bug report as well.

Any chance I could download the old version until this gets resolved?

Also... I read that Lollipop will be pushed for the Tab Pro by the end of year. Will this solve the problem?

I left flac tracks running for about 8 hours...no crashes.

Hopefully the log gives a clue...we'll check.

Thanks for all the effort!

I have been busy at work the last couple of days so I haven't been able to work on this.

I am going to play some flac files. When the tablet reboots I will immediately send the log file. It reboots fast, I don't know if it has time to log an error. But we will see.

Would it be a good idea for me to reinstall the current build? Perhaps I should clear the database and reinstall the build to see if that clears it up. Rusty went hours without trouble. Maybe it just didn't install correctly.

If that doesn't work then I could try the previous build per Rusty's link.

How does that sound for a plan?

I have one extra bit of info. I am using a 128gig SanDisc internal SD card. I don't remember the exact claimed speed... but it was better than class 10. I have been playing MP3 files for days now without a single incident. No other app is causing a reboot. So far it has just happened during Flac playback.

Hi Judson,

Yes, the best thing to do is to get the bug to happen; then when you restart MMA, immediately send a debug log and post the log ID here.

Hi Rusty,

I just sent an error log SHBA9RRU13.

When I hit the OK button on the error log a message flashed. Does that mean the logs were sent? Do I have to attach them to an email or something?
(just wanted to be sure. I don't use my tablet for email much)

MM got through the first song and was a minute into the next one when the tablet rebooted.

Let me know if you get the log. Also, should I re-install the current build or go to the link you gave me earlier in this thread?

Should I clear my Database and start re-syncing the whole thing? ( I have about 70gig of flac)

Hi Judson,
please, can you try disable "Lookup missing lyrics". I can see in your last debug log that MMA was restarted and lyrics lookup fails just before it.

and if that fails, can you try build 500 (the build announcement is at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 50#p416288 ), go to Options > About MediaMonkey > click the MediaMonkey icon to open Developer Options > Tap 'Reboot fix' and see if it solves the problem.

I tried de-selecting the Lyric and Art looks up. Still reboots.

I will try build 500 and see what happens!

Hi,

I followed the instructions. I installed build 500, went to the Developers options and selected reboot fix.

It got about 2 minutes into the first track (flac) and rebooted.

I sent an error log:
IUN6VNCB6L

Let me know what I should try next. I am thinking I will try going back to the previous version to verify that it works. Rusty gave me the info further up the thread.

Hi,

I tried going to a previous version using the link that Rusty posted:

On that page I wasn't sure which one to try. I figured I wanted the .2 version.

It looked like it was a an upgrade, it did not install.

Which version would have been before this flac problem? Also, the .500 build loaded fine.. is there something I have to do differnt to go to a previous build?

Android won't let you go to an earlier build of an app--you have to first uninstall the app. Also, note that you can't install both MMA and MMA beta concurrently.

Lastly, as far as what version to install:
MMA 4.1.2.419
MMA Beta 4.1.2.420
