Display do not update over Bluetooth [#13961]

Post by Rudhan »

I am listening to music using MMA in my car over Bluetooth, earlier the artist and song and so on has been displayed on the cars display, not so any longer. It is only displayed a song I listened to earlier but it has frozen, even if I change song doesn't the display change. It works when listening to the Android built in music player.

Anyone know how to fix this?

MMA 1.3.0.0665

Hi,
Can you please elaborate with bit more details like Car head unit model MMA version and if possible pictures of both MMA and head unit.

Additionally you can send Debug log from MMA apron track change and head unit do not show the change.

Hi,

I am using MediaMonkey Android 1.3.0.0665

Not sure what you mean with 'Car head unit model', the car is a Volvo V60 2012.

I have uploaded a debug log: FZ5VSSXDL1

I have changed song but the old one is still on the cars display, even when the right song was played did the elapsed time not move, I have a picture of it but I don't know how to attach it.

Thanks!

As you do not have aftermarket headunit and your Volvo V60 2012 have Volvo Sensus infotainment system https://www.google.com/search?q=Volvo+V ... ent+system info is more than enough.

You should be able to upload image to http://imgur.com/upload and paste DL link here.

Added as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=13961 for investigation

I should also mention that it does work sometimes, but I have not been able to figure out how to reproduce.

In this picture is 'Farewell to the fairground' being played in the cars speakers.

Hi,
Thank you, I just wondering if you can try these steps:
1. Start the car (Turn off BT on phone)
2. Turn BT on phone and connect to car
3. Start MMA and see if Playing track info is correctly synced
4. Wait till track finishes and new one starts and check if it is updated correctly
5. Turn Off car

You can repeat 1-5 (even switch 2 and 3) to cover all use cases and see both Volvo and MMA behavior and what/when it sync correct info.

Thank you for this, I wish I could buy myself V60 just for testing ;)

EDIT: I just noticed that BT connection show Shuffle on Sensus? Is it possible that it shows wrong info eg. previous track info? Also do steering wheel commands work with BT connection?

I have seen the same thing in my 2013 Toyota Yaris a couple of times recently. Whichever track was playing when starting the car stayed on the display indefinitely even though many different tracks are played. The car also didn't display track progress while it was playing.

I have only seen this behaviour twice recently. On one occasion the display did eventually update and start displaying track progress, possibly due to me pausing or skipping tracks using the car's controls but I can't be sure.

Possibly related, I have noticed that since I received the Android 7.0 update the track number displayed in car is one less than it should be. I.e. the first track does not display a track number, the second track is labelled track 1, third track says track 2, etc. The same build of MMA before the Android 7.0 update did not have that problem.

Please try my above steps andn report results. We are trying to fetch exact point when it fail as unfortunately we can't get debug info from Manufacturer infotainment.

By turning off BT and stopping MMA, and start BT again, the display on the car starts updating. When I restart the car and reconnect the phone the display in the car is stuck at where it stopped earlier.

I noted one thing that might be of interest, when the display is stuck I can skip to the next song using the buttons on the steering wheel, when I do, the songs progress shows 00:00 for a second and then back to the previous time, and still stuck.

Thanks for your good support and just let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you.

Please try to enable "Always respond to remote buttons" in Options and let me know whether it has same behavior.

Hi guys,

I am not sure what version of MMA I had before, I have been using it in my car for over a year and I always keep all apps updated.

I tried to activate 'Always respond to remote buttons' and when I restarted my car the display worked right away. I unselected 'Always respond to remote buttons' and restarted the car, it still worked. I have restarted the car, and stopped MMA, a few times, and it keeps working, really weird.

I will come back in a few days, at the latest, about how it goes. For the testing, should I keep 'Always respond to remote buttons' selected or not?

Hi,
You can keep it disabled and if it stops updating then enable the option as it involves MMA announce itself as active/priority BT app to Android in order to send/receive AVRCP Metadata to car head unit.

Hi,

I went for a drive today and the display did not work. I activated 'Always respond to remote buttons' but that did not help. Also turning off BT and back on did not help.

It seems that if it does not work just after the car is started it will not get going again, without restarting the car.

Hi,
and at all times Control commands worked (Pause, Next, Prev) no matter of display?
