MonkeyTunes is a Digital Audio Control Protocol (DACP) Server for MediaMonkey to allow remote control of your music anywhere in your house. Digital Audio Control Protocol (DACP) is the protocol used by ITunes, except I don't use ITunes, I use MediaMonkey. I originally wrote my own iPhone client called iMonkey but it could never stand up to the features of Apple Remote for Itunes. MonkeyTunes now bridges the gap giving the full power and beauty of the Apple Remote with the power of MediaMonkey! Google Android users are not left out as a customized version of TunesRemote is provided.
The purpose of this program is simple: to allow control of your MediaMonkey from your mobile device with the touch of a finger.
Features:
- Full text library browsing and searching. Search by Artist, Album, Song title, Genre etc from your mobile device
- Native Mediamonkey plugin so it won't interfere with any other plugin's you use
- Google Android Client: TunesRemote+ available on the Android Market
- Apple iOS Client: the incredible Apple Remote application
- Windows Phone 7: Komodex Remote for Windows Phone 7 on the Zune Market
- Nokia Symbian: CuteRemote on the Ovi Store
- Desktop Linux/OSX/Windows: TunesRemoteSE for any desktop operating system
- HP WebOS Client: ReTune - Free HP WebOS (formerly PalmOS)
- Google Android Client: ReTune - Free Android client (better than TunesRemote+)
- Windows8/RT Client: rtRemote - Windows 8 and Windows RT for Surface client
- No "line-of-sight" needed to control MediaMonkey which may be stored in a closet or somewhere else out of the way in your house.
- Tested successfully against MediaMonkey 4 v1357 or higher!
