Please change the five auto-sync counts' labelling from "files" to "tracks" e.g.
522 files, 3.3 GB, 24:21:36 > 522 tracks, 3.3 GB, 24:21:36
to make clear that for playlists this does not refer to the number of playlist files.

Re: Auto-sync count labelling "files"
Chris:
I do not see how changing the name from files to tracks will offer more clarification, a user can still assume that it is referring to the same files. Would it not be more understandable to change it to "individual/unique tracks/files"?? Or some such explanation explaining that if a track exists on more than one explanation, it will only be included in the list once.
Just my two cents.

Currently "files" can mean track or playlists. Changing to tracks solves this...

... but not that!

Re: Auto-sync count labelling "files"
Once again, I still think this leaves it up to the user to interpret. A user can still interpret this to mean XX amount of tracks, but if any tracks exist in more than one playlist, how many times is it counted in the total? If once, then it would still cause the user to assume there are discrepancies as to what is synced to the device. If more than once, the free space of the device could be mis-interpreted.chrisjj wrote:> I do not see how changing the name from files to tracks will offer more clarification, a user can still assume that it is referring to the same files.

I do not understand what you mean here...chrisjj wrote:>Would it not be more understandable to change it to "individual/unique tracks/files"??

Ideally I would prefer it if is was changed to: 522 files, 79 playlists 3.3 GB, 24:21:36

Yes indeed, but that is not the problem I am addressing.

I mean it does not solve that problem of the "individual/unique tracks" issue.

Re: Auto-sync count labelling "files"
I am having a serious brain freeze because I am not understanding what you are trying to address. I do not understand how changing the labeling from files to tracks will make it more distinguishable that this count does not include playlists. I looked at my auto-sync lists which have several playlists, and a good number of them have files which appear on more than one playlist, but the count is still correct regarding the tracks which are selected to autosync. So why does the labeling need to be changed? And if this labeling has been like this all this time, why is it that there aren't more requests for clarification in this area? Can you explain to me more what problem you are having and why the change from files to tracks will make a difference? And I still would like to have the list of playlists included, if no where else the count of selected playlists should be included in the Playlist tab.
EDIT: BTW, I only have four areas which have the file counts, unless you are including both sections of each tab which means that all eight areas need to be updated.

The word "files" can refer to tracks and playlists. The word "tracks" refers only to tracks.

Again Nyn, that's a different issue. The point of the change is to make the labelling correct for the meaning of the figure.
> Can you explain to me more what problem you are having and why the change from files to tracks will make a difference?
I looked at the dialog to discover the number of files (playlists and tracks) being sent to the device. The dialog falsely said "2820 files", whereas this figure excluded playlists and the correct info was that 2820 /tracks/ were being sent. Correct labelling would solve this.
In fact you've made clear to me that this issue is not just one of ambiguity but also inaccuracy, so I shall report it as a bug.

Different issue.
> EDIT: BTW, I only have four areas which have the file counts
I have one file count on each of the four tabs plus one at the bottom of the dialog, totalling five.
