Add Details to "do you want to replace?" alert [4780]

Post by Aphex_Twin77 »

When I transfer my new music files into the folder I use to store my files for MM a dialog box appears telling me there is already a file with the same name in the folder and asks if I want to replace it. However, no information about either file is given. So have I no idea if it's a good idea to replace it or not.
My request is that this dialog box gives information on both files so we can compare them and know if it's worthwhile to replace the original file in the folder or not. Just like windows explorer tells the size of each file. Of course if it gives more details like track length and bit rate it would be even better :)

Absolutely agree. This feature would make a lot of sense. Would anyone from the development team care to answer on whether this could be incorporated any time soon, please ?

Sounds like a good idea. Can't promise anything since we've only begun to prioritize features for the next version, but I've added it into the database for triage.

Yeah, currently it's a pain in the butt as you need to cancel the Auto-Organize Files and go find the 2 copies and compare them to see what action you wish to do.

Rusty, any news ? Has this been scheduled to go into the code, yet ?

Thanks, Harald
