Printing jewel case inserts

Post by PatMcQ »

I read in the Support area that printing jewel case inserts is not available but the 3rd party programs suggested there are absolutely terrible. MediaMonkey seems to include everything but the kitchen sink and printing jewel case inserts. It seems odd to have CD "burn" capibilities without CD "print" capabilities. MusicMatch allowed me to print the CD label and jewel case inserts, in various incarnations, right from the burn dialog. The jewel case insert I chose was all of the album cover graphics tiled on one side (tile size adjusted automatically for a 2x2/3x3/4x4/etc. array) and the list of tracks on the other side, which folded and fit nicely into a slim line case. So simple yet so elegant. Since MusicMatch has been abandoned by Yahoo, which MediaMonkey has surpassed in most other ways, I have no printing option any more. Won't you please consider something similar? I'm stuck!

Thank you!

I agree. This is an odd omission.

I'd guess that it hasn't been added to MM natively because it could be scripted rather easily - it just so happens no one has taken up such a project. (Perhaps because it isn't all that popular/wanted?)

I agreed I would also like to see support for printing CD labels. Like the great CD Labeler program by SureThing.

I am looking for the same capability. It is the only thing MM does not have that I need...when burning CD's or mixes for people it would be nice to add album art for the songs on the CD along with song title, artist, etc...

Currently, I create a report for the playlist then print screen, cut and paste... I have downloaded trial versions of multiple programs...of all I have downloaded none are very good at doing any of this. The Acoustica CD Labelmaker is the best so far as you can easily import a playlist (m3u) then print text but it's not very sharp looking and requires formatting. There is no way to import album art from each track that I have found to include on the insert...

Of CD's I've received from friends with the dreaded iTunes, the mosaic print feature is the only thing I would admit to liking from that program...

I could not agree more. It's good of people to make scripts or whatever but it's surprising something so needed is not standard. I just want to hit a 'print jewel case insert' function button. "just like iTunes". sometimes it's good to keep a hard copy !

I've gone off the iTunes print now that i've just tried to use it. Reminds me of why i went off the whole thing now. Am using 'Trixmoto's Custom Report script with CD Cover format. works OK thanks except there is no 'spine' print. For that i have to use 'Cover Creator' which again works OK except this won't keep the track times column in line if I paste from Trixmoto's output. :-?

I can try to add spine labels to my "Custom Report" script. It should work in IE but other browsers might be an issue.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.

Good of you to give it a try. I am running Firefox like so many others because of the attacks that IE is subject to. In the meantime i'm just leaving the 'time' column out.

No, This is just rubbish copy/pasteing Trixmoto's output to CoverCreator. The lettering is less clear and i get little boxes between track number and name. And of course my previous whinge that CoverCreator won't keep the track times column in line. So Trixmoto if you can help that would be great. Post us a note if you get something worked out. thanks

I know that IE supports vertically text writing but last time I checked Firefox didn't. However, 3.6 has just been released so I'll have to check that out.
