More than 3 colums in the track browser? [#6751]
Hi there, I was just wondering if it is possible to have four colums in the track browser rather than three.
I have my setup as follows:
column 1 - Genre
column 2 - Sub Genre
column 3 - Album Artist
I want to be able to add an extra column after sub genre so it looks like this:
column 1 - Genre
column 2 - Sub Genre
column 3 - extra Column for sorting alphabetically
column 4 - Album Artist
And just another question. Does anyone know if it is possible to sort alphabetically in the track browser.
I currently do this by adding a custom field called 'letter' and then changing this field in each tag to the corresponding letter, which can get tiresome.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Kind Regards
Ambrose

You can't sort the Track Browser, you can't add columns and there is no sub-genre field (unless you use a custom field).

Re: More than 3 colums in the track browser?
Thanks for the reply but I have managed to sort using a custom field, also your correct in saying I have used custom field for sub genre. My question I am still wondering is whether it is possible to have 4 columns in the track browser. Is there any underlying code which could be changed to add another column? Or any scripts out there that would add another? Thanks
Ps Here is a picture of what I currently have (with sorting as a custom field named Letter).

And Here is a mock up of what I want it to look like (one extra column containing my custom field named sub-genre)

Thanks for your time everyone.

3 is all the columns there are, which is why I moved this to the wishlist forum.

Hi I liked your skin and the way it is arranged. Can you tell me how did you get that lyrics out there. Is it with Embeded Minilyrics or something else? That looks really pretty.ambrose wrote: And Here is a mock up of what I want it to look like (one extra column containing my custom field named sub-genre)

Hey, while we're wishing for things, can I make a humble request to have just two columns?
Re: More than 3 colums in the track browser?
I would like to have this option as well, I've fallen in love with the last.fm plus plugin for musicbrainz picard and I would like to make full use of the extra tags in this plugin.

+1 on this! The option to add or remove the number of columns in Track Browser would be awesome!
Any scripts out there that could do that?

@ambrose: I'm curious as to how you created the custom field for putting things alphabetically. That's always been my favourite way to search music and I'd love to know how to get it done. Thanks.
To mediamonkey staff: I also wish for custom column support (adding or removing columns from track browser)

The ability to resize the Track Browser columns would be great as well!
Re: More than 3 colums in the track browser?
I too would like having 2 columns (or any custom number while at it).
