Define the Next-Playing Song in Random Mode

Post by Jabro91 »

Hello all,

I don't know wether there is already an option for my Problem:

I'd like MM to be able to enqueu (?) files like in other Players (afaik: AIMP and Winamp have this option), thus it should be possible to define the next file-to-play in the random mode.

PS: I hope you understand my English, if not I can provide (a hopefully) perfect German version.

Greetings

The Now Playing list is the list of songs that will be played. To play them in a random order that you can define, shuffle the list and which off the shuffle mode.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

You can randomize the Playing List by its menu:

or by right-clicking the list->List->Randomize.

You can also directly randomize a saved playlist with this script: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=22915

thx for your answers, but this is just a workaround. Cause when I add songs later to my list they won't be shuffled to. And when I shuffle again I'd have to reorder some songs. So I'd like to have the feature to enqueue things like in other big media players.

I'm guessing that you're looking for something like the JTFE (Jump To File Extended) for Winamp by DrO - i.e. you want a feature where you can have your Now Playing set to shuffle while at the same time being able to pick and enqueue some songs that you would like to hear first - and once they are done playing MM just continues with the Now Playing in shuffle mode?

The lack of this feature has also been my major grief with MM for a long time.
Randomizing the Now Playing list and playing it in "non-shuffle" (regular?) mode whilst enqueing your selection with the 'Play Next' command just doesn't cut it :( - especially since this solution will play the last enqueued song first :-/

The best solution I have come across so far is the PlayNext script by raybeau528.
But this only allows you to enqueue one file - it apparently does this by disabling shuffle mode when you enqueue the chosen song, and once that song start playing, shuffle mode is re-engaged.

You're rigtht, that's exactly for what I'm looking for.
I wrote an PM to the author of PlayNext, wether he'd like to Extend his previous Version, so that it's possible to enqueue more files.

I think this is one big thing missing in the (nearly) perfect MediaMonkey

Dear MM board admins... please add "Enqueue feature" to the Official Wishlist! It is a long overdue feature... (and there are many other threads that echo this)..

I'd like to see this feature included too.
You should make a post about it in the wishlist section of the forum.

In the meanwhile. You could use the Auto-dj fonction ,
switch shuffle off and choose your playlist in the auto_dj option tab.

Since I use autodj, I need less often the shuffle mode.

You'll see, the auto-dj is a very nice feature, far superior to conventional shuffle mode.

Also, about the randomize playlist, I noticed that when you do randomize now playing, the position of the first playing track will be randomized too, and that is imao a bad thing. It would be better if the first track kept is first position in the now playing list.

Rcently migratedfrom winamp, I would also like this feature. It also has some benefits for those using Windows 7 and its speach recognition, you can make a jump speach macro.
