Currently, the Status Bar provides information on the file(s) selected and the status of any background tasks. One improvement I'd like to see is to have one bar for information on the files selected, and a separate bar for any background tasks (a bar that appears only when needed).
I use a large font size (30%) when using MediaMonkey. Due to this, when displaying the information on the files part of it is cut off (at the dividing line between the status and background tasks on the bar). Reducing the font size allows all of the information to be displayed but it makes it harder to read. Having a bar for only the information on the files would provide enough space for all of the information on the files regardless of the font size.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Status Bar & Background Task Bar - Make Them Separate It
When a background task is running, right click it's progress bar and select "Maximize status bar." This will put the status bar on a separate row than the File information. Not sure if it remembers that on each run though, as I've always left mine "minimized"

IIRC it is remembered.

I leave the Background Task Bar (BTB) maximized and it is remembered. But even though the BTB has been maximized and is separated from the Status Bar, the space it occupied isn't freed up so that all of the information on the files can be displayed. It cuts off the file information at the point where the BTB would have been if it was minimized. Also, the amount of space provided for the file information on the Status Bar is fixed, it doesn't vary when the window size is changed.Mizery_Made wrote:When a background task is running, right click it's progress bar and select "Maximize status bar." This is a continuing problem with MM. The problem of HUGE FONTS.Solitaire001 wrote:... the amount of space provided for the file information [on the Status Bar] is fixed, it doesn't vary when the window size is changed.
Very few folk are impacted by this font size issue so it gets little or no attention by the developers.
There are numerous other text fields - not only the Status Bar - that are affected by this HUGE FONT problem.
There is no way of controlling it - you either have to suffer small fonts that cannot be read, or increase the font to something readable and then not be able to see all the text coz the "amount of space provided" is inadequate to accommodate the text. 'Bet yer life it's not fixed in 4.
