Multiple playlist windows - please help

Post by fedupwithapple »

Hi, I am very new to media Monkey so forgive me if MM already does this.

I have been an 11 year professional user of itunes and up until version 11 saw no reason to change or look at other software.
I am a singer and like many other professional users find it invaluable to have multiple playlist windows open at one time during the performance.
For instance before a gig I would open one playlist for background music, one for set one, one for set two and maybe a another playlist that will have other songs that people might request during the show that I can easily drag into the right place during the performance.
Apple in their infinite wisdom have removed this facility, hence I and thousands of others are without a software that meets our needs.
I have just downloaded Media monkey for the first time and it looks great and it has a lot of options that itunes 10 , never had, except multiple playlist windows.
Do you think Media Monkey could fill the now missing gap in the market for at least the option to open multiple playlist windows? It could be a lucrative move as Apple have no interest in looking after its professional clients.

from what i can make out all you need to do is open a new tab and click on your other playlist.
I hope this helps but im just a simple user and noticed this.
Good luck :)

I am using the latest beta version.

fedupwithapple .. it is always good to see a turtleneck come over to the banana croud :)

popsmike is right. If you press the + sign at the top of your window it should open a secondary view. Each of these tabs can contain video, tv, or individual playlists. Once your playlists are created simply click the + then 'select' the playlist of your choice. Then again and again. MM will remember those when you exit and start again but sadly they aren't 'safe' in that if you have playlist a in the first tab and accidentally click something else on the left .. POW the tab will now have that. You can simply click your playlist again to get it to show but it can be frustrating.

If this is way off what you were needing just come back with more info on your needs

Thanks guys. I found that now, but itunes 10 let you have a new window that you could scale and move around the screen and have them all visible so you could say pick up a tune from one list and drag into another list and place in exactly the right place.
It may be a subtle difference but its huge when you have 200 people listening to the output and watching you.
So the plus feature is ok but I need to be able to double click any playlist and for it to bring up an independent scalable window just for the playlist (as many play lists as I need ). I want the technology to move forward and make life easier not go backwards.
