Not sure whether to post this here or in the beta section. Running 1342 and am messing around with the video functionality and was just wondering where the options are for switching audio tracks, like for director commentaries and such, and also the subtitles option. I feel like like I looked everywhere but still can't find them. Probably somewhere so obvious I just glanced over them.
Thanks for any help!

Yes, all issues with the MM4 betas should be posted in the Beta forum.

Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
I think that stuff is all handled by ffdshow and/or haali media splitter, MM doesn't have those specific options yet.

Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Just one more follow up question. Most other media players have those two options somewhere without resorting to the codecs to implement them, does anyone know if the developers plan on implementing those options at some point cuz I'm really just to lazy to hardcode subtitles into my video files? and almost too lazy to have to open up another media player just to watch a video with director commentary where MM plays it just fine and dandy! Bottom line is I'm lazy
, jk, really though I just want to be able to use MM for all my music and video needs!\
Thanks for any help in advance!

Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Yes, theres some stuff in Mantis about it already, but it's a complex issue so I think I saw them say it might have to wait for 4.1.76firefly wrote:Just one more follow up question. Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Thanks Nohitter! Never would have thought it would be that complex of an issue, it's just something you take for granted on other players. Well MM is my favorite and I'll wait patiently and just use the settings in Shark007 codecs for now! By the way, everytime I look over at the ventismedia page, I'm always amazed just how much work these guys are putting into this!
Thanks so much guys!
Thanks so much guys!
Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Just wanted to follow up and see if there's any update on being able to play secondary audio tracks in the video files, like for directors commentaries? If not, maybe some workaround to enable it in the codec settings or something. I use shark007. Thanks for any help in advance.
Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Just a quick question to the community:
Do many of you have videos with multiple audio tracks? (ignoring DVDs). I've not come across this, but I wonder whether it's more common for non-english videos that might have e.g. an English and a German audio stream embedded.
Thanks.

Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
Probably just me (OP), since I'm such a nerd I have to listen to Joss Whedon on the director commentary track, while watching Firefly episodes! But really, it does seem to be a standard feature on most video players, eg. wmp, vlc... Would be a shame if it were left out of MediaMonkey! By the way, kudos for all the hard work you guys are doing!!!
Re: Video Audio Tracks & Subtitles
I have video files with several audio tracks and I know personally many people which have them too. Maybe you haven't across such files because you haven't been interested about them, but I assure you that there are many such files on Internet. You cannot receive the correct response to your question because many MM users which would want the required feature don't know English language and don't visit this forum. You know, English is not the most spoken language in the world - it is Mandarin Chinese with 873 millions, the second is Hindi with 370 millions and the third is Spanish with 350 millions. However, as 76firefly said, it is not only about non-English languages, there are video files with director/actor comments too. The option to choose audio track is really a standard feature in any better video player and it would be unadvisedly if you don't implement it as well.rusty wrote:Do many of you have videos with multiple audio tracks? By the way, many players have a possibility not only to choose audio stream incorporated into the video file, but also to choose audio file which is separated from video file.
