Should be the full log this time. Included screencaps and the requested walkthrough of what exactly was done when starting and while waiting for the library database to finally finish loading up. Keep in mind this happens EVERY time i start Mediamonkey. And this is fresh install (from June 20th with the latest build) Used the portable install version with no additional addons/skins/etc (only what comes with default install) for this but the standard install w/addons/skins/etc does exactly the same. :/
From the log it looks like a problem with a third party script, do you have any scripts or plugins installed? Try to rename your C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey4\Scripts\ directory and ensure that Options -> Player -> General Plugins list is empty.

If removing scripts/plugins wouldn't help then please zip your C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey4\Portable\MM.DB and post/send it to me. As it has only 4316 songs it should be small enough to send.

Thanks!

Nope that debug log was with the portable build with only what comes by default. No addon scripts, but as i said, the standard build (non-portable) does exactly the same thing.

Werewolf hero, can you send your DB in a PM to ludek? (using a service like mediafire or megaupload).

Thanks.

Here's the MM.DB file

Tried zipping the scripts folder in the portable version (the one with no extra plugins/scripts) and it didn't do anything.

Hmmm, I tried with your DB and everything is smooth and fast, no 'Reading files...'
I also don't see a reason for it, it seems theat the 'Reading files...' thread stucks for no particular reason.

You are saying that this only appears with MM4 and MM3 works fine?
Did you try a fresh install of MM4?

It happens on two separate fresh installs of MM4 (both standard and portable in separate folders) Started using MM4 after MM3 started having issues of its own (popup windows such as options and monkeyrok's activeX appearing behind the client.) Also did a fresh reinstall of windows back in march, and the UAC is off so it shouldn't be an OS or permissions issue.

Could you please download special MediaMonkey.exe from here: http://www.happymonkeying.com/beta/MediaMonkey.rar
Extract the MediaMonkey.exe file and copy it over your current MediaMonkey.exe and run it.

Then use hotkey combination
CTRL + Left shift + Tab
when the 'Reading files...' appears, it should trigger Eureka Log and attach the log (it should be located in your install folder and is called MediaMonkey.elf ).

And please generate also standard debug log using that MediaMonkey.exe.

Thank you!
