MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info / art [#8472]
MM4 display "Unknown" instead of the song info, remaining time and album art when acting as a upnp DMR(Digital Media Renderer). The DMS is sending the info as I've tested it with another DMR which displayed the info and album art.
The issue was supposedly "fixed" in build 1400 as per Mantis #7777 and Mantis #8066.
Anybody has the issue?

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
Hi,
I just tested with MM4 (build 1432) as a Player for the Foobar server, and vice versa, and both scenarios worked fine. Any more details about your scenario that might help figure this out?
Thanks.

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
I think that abeloin means that he uses HTC EVO 3D X515a as a micro media controller where he sets MediaMonkey as renderer and Foobar as server.
But which app you uses on the HTC EVO 3D X515a?
In similar scenarion I tested with PlugPlayer (on my iPhone) where I set MediaMonkey as renderer and it worked fine. So maybe there is a problem with the app on your HTC EVO 3D, did you try another renderer with the same app or another app with MediaMonkey renderer (whether it works)?

Yes--I tested MM (renderer)/Foobar (server), and MM(Server)/Foobar(renderer), using PlugPlayer as the controller, and in both cases it works fine.

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
Sorry for the lateness of my reply.
The first screenshot is what I'm trying to explain. Foobar(or HTC) is pushing a local song to MM renderer via the UPnP Controller. Nothing appear in the playlist and cover art. The word 'Unknown' is shown instead of the song on the seek bar. Time is properly registered as we can see 17 secs elapsed in both Foobar and MM.
In the second screenshot, you can see Foobar renderer receiving all the info from HTC player in the same scenario.

The default app is Music for Android v3.0.21 by HTC(Seem to be a custom player based on mediaCTRL by Awox)Ludex wrote:But which app you uses on the HTC EVO 3D X515a?
Are you pushing the song to the renderer(controller to renderer) like "WMP Play to" feature?rusty wrote:Yes--I tested MM (renderer)/Foobar (server), and MM(Server)/Foobar(renderer), using PlugPlayer as the controller, and in both cases it works fine.

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
Foobar as both server and renderer is not a good example, because Foobar can share the track metadata internally.
Try it with another renderer to see whether the track info is properly shown.
There must be something that 'Music for Android v3.0.21' does differently than PlugPlayer, I don't have an android here to test, so please generate debug log, it could tell me why MM doesn't receive the info.
BTW. What is the 'UPnP Controller' app on the first screenshot? It doesn't seem to be an android app, isn't it?

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
What you mean by "it' s the same behaviour". Do you mean that BubbleUPnP also don't show up the metadata when it is selected as active renderer?
What is the "UPnP Controller" app/window that is on the first screencast that you posted? I suppose that it is not an android app, if it is a windows controller then please give me a download link so that I could reproduce the issue, thanks!

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
Meaning MM still show "unknown" using BubbleUPnp as a controller.Ludek wrote:What you mean by "it' s the same behaviour". Do you mean that BubbleUPnP also don't show up the metadata when it is selected as active renderer?
Serviio(Server)-->BubbleUPnp(Controller)-->MM(Renderer)
TVersity(Server)-->BubbleUPnp(Controller)-->MM(Renderer)
It's foobar_upnp controller in foobar2000 available hereLudek wrote:What is the "UPnP Controller" app/window that is on the first screencast that you posted? Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
I have tried
TVersity(Server)-->Foobar UPnP Controller-->MM(Renderer)
And I understand the misunderstanding now.
You mean that the info isn't shown on the player while it is shown in Now Playing.
See this screencast:

Tracked as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8472
Workaround is to restart playback of the same song.

Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info and album
Further analyzing shown that MM really should use another way to get the metadata. Will be fixed in the next build.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: MM4 upnp digital media renderer: No song info / art [#84
Just tried build 1441 and part of of the original request is fixed. The song's info are ok but the art work are still missing.
Thanks
