[1470] Update & Next/Previous buttons on Properties [#9090]
When in Show art with details view, select a song and open its Properties page (right click->properties, or Shift+Enter).
Now, when you press the Update & Next button, instead of going to the next track in the album, the way it used to, it jumps to some other track under the current node. It seems like tracks are ordered alphabetically by track title.
It feels like the aftermath of this issue: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=64001
Edit: It seems this happens if you sort by the Summary column.

Re: [4.0.3.1470] Update & Next/Previous buttons on Propertie
Its working fine on my install [1470 portable]
When I hit the next track button (green arrows) it does go to the next numerical track no.
Are your track no.s in order in your art & details view?

Yes, everything is displayed in order.
This (only?) happens when you sort by Summary. I'll add that to the first post.

Yep I can now see that "feature" as well - not good

Within an Album it works as expected here, but once you go to the next Album it doesn't select the first track of the next Album in the Filelisting. Added as: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9090

Re: [4.0.3.1470] Update & Next/Previous buttons on Propertie
Sorry, but that's not what I'm seeing. I tried with album artists nodes that has just one album, others with more than one album: whenever you sort by the Summary column, pick a track and open it's properties - the previous/next buttons order the tracks by title, across all the albums currently in view.Lowlander wrote:Within an Album it works as expected here, but once you go to the next Album it doesn't select the first track of the next Album in the Filelisting.
The alphabetical order is reversed if the Summary sort order is reversed.
Similar to this: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 01#p329494
That's why I thought those two issues are, somehow, related.

It might be useful to post your summary masks.

Sure. Art View is set as following:Lowlander wrote:It might be useful to post your summary masks.
1st line: $if(<Album>,<Album Artist>,<Artist>)
2nd line: $if(<Album>,$if(<Year>,[<Year>],[????]) <Album> $if(<Tag Cleanup>=Done,,*) $if(<Comment>,{<Comment>}),$if($viewmode=3,$if($groupcount=1,<Title>)))
A short explanation: Since I'm cleaning-up my tag info, I renamed one of the custom fields to <Tag Cleanup>. I set it to Done for those tracks I'm done with. <Year> comes first, because sorting by Summary sorts by album artist and then by date.

As an example
Select track 1 of album "A Word In The Wind" by 2002

Hit update and next song (alt right)

Well at least in this case it kept with the same artist
Note my masks are as default - never changed them.

Hmm, the plot thickens.
I have some albums located locally on my PC's HDD. For those, the behavior is as Lowlander describes.
For the albums located on my NAS, shared over SMB/CIFS (mapped drive) - the behavior matches what BKKKPewsey and I previously described.

All my music is on windows shares using UNC path names.
I have only 1 album on my local hard drive which happens to be a compilation. (Whiskey in the Jar - Various Artists) so I scanned that in to MM.
Result
Select track 2 (Wishing Well - Free), Select next - track 13 (Giving It All Away - Roger Daltrey), select next, track 17 (Rag Mama Rag - The Band) and so on...
How it is deciding on its sort is a mystery to me, its certainly not by track no and if its alphabetical then it must be using a rare dialect of Klingon

This issue appears to be resolved with 1471
Edit: Cancel that last statement - I do not know what I did to get it working correctly before?
but if you sort on summary in art and details view the next/previous buttons still appear to be doing an alphabetical sort (sort of
)
and not following the track numbers

My experience with 1473 is different. this issue is still there. Not surprising, though, considering it's still open and planned to be fixed in 4.0.4.BKKKPewsey wrote:I will take a chance again and report that this issue appears to fixed in [1473]

The piece of wood I was touching when I made the last post obviously wasn't wooden enough
Either that or the bug is linked with me posting to the forum
However I have found out why it sometimes works ok and then not.
If you have Art & Details view shown and sorted on Summary and then close MM. On re-opening MM the next/previous buttons appear to work correctly.
If you then sort on say Album Artist they will continue to work ok.
If you now sort again on Summary they will now "break" and the buttons will take you on a mystery tour of your library.
I would be interested if anyone else can reproduce this.
