This means that if the source file contains e.g. á, the device tag display fails.
Perhaps MM is not aware of this conversion issue? In which case this is a wish that it be made so, rather than a bug report ;)

Can anyone suggest a script/tool to workaround this? I.e. to replace all non ASCII characters with the nearest ASCII equivalent, e.g. á>a, whoknowswhat>_ .
Currently I use a common-cases script in Mp3tag which, whilst a great program, has no facility to handle the full set e.g. $asciify().
