Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
Isn't that expected? Since the tracks are for an album, I'd expect the tracks to be in order, hence the # column.

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
No, it is not expected. It is behavior that has begun in the current 3.1 beta series. I posted here in the beta testing forum for the devs as a regression.
This column header seems to have been used as an iterative for the "Now Playing" list in past MM versions.
Note that the column in question is designated "#" and it is greyed out. Note also the normal "Track Number" column that is directly adjacent to the "Title" (I have the column narrowed so the header doesn't show).
Note the same "#" column in the now playing window.
The "#" number happens to match the track number simply because there is only one album showing in the selected node.

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
This behavior is unique to the album node.
I have the new "#" column disabled by default but it still appears in this case.

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
Not really. Column # is a new addition to MM3, there has never been a column # before. The number before was always just listed in front of the title, without having a column of its own. The number appeared before the title in the case of albums under the album node, so I thought it would be rather expected.cmx wrote:No, it is not expected. Thanks for pointing that out, I totally missed it since it wasn't in the menu when you right click on the columns.Owyn wrote:Library Node->Options->Choose Tree Nodes

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
So are you clear on the issue nohitter?
I'm not clear on what you are talking about. The 1190 production version of MM3 does not exhibit this behavior.
Yeah, owyn it only seems to occur in the album node.

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
Before the current beta MediaMonkey the order number column was part of the Title column for Now Playing, Playlists and Albums. Now the order number has it's own column as such it's expected that this column shows up under the album node.

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
I'm sorry for being dense but I still am not sure I am clear what you guys are talking about....
It is called the "order number" column?
I guess this is what I saw and reffered to as the "iterative" in the track field Now Playing window.
There was also inconsitent (at least in my experience) "numbering" in the Title field of other nodes in the main window...this was odd behavior that was often griped about.
If this window "iterative" now has its own field and is not being "added to" our track name field that is GREAT!!
BUT, we need control of it. I cannot turn it off nor would it stay in place if I changed its placement on the column header order. It always returns to the leftmost field.
So, as you guys have seen...it is not a selection in the rightclick menu for column selection and in the column configuration window via Nav Pane even though it is present as a selection- selection/deselection has no affect.
(Rusty...give us the "added feature" breakdown in the beta announcement so we know this stuff is happeneing)

Shoudld disable the #/track order column, but it doesn't do so for me when trying in the Album node. Is this a bug?Owyn wrote:Library Node->Options->Choose Tree Nodes

I too think it should be available in the right click menu of the column headers. It not being there only leads the user to believe it isn't configurable.cmx wrote:it is not a selection in the right click menu for column selection

Re: # Field Showing Up In Main Window
thanks for the link owyn. Things are a bit clearer.
Personally I don't see the point of having the # column show up in the album node at all....
It is useful in the playlist and nowplaying windows.....
Seems as if the solution would simply be to have it function as any other header for the user... Have it hideable and positionable.

Re: 1198: # Field Showing Up In Main Window BUG#132
It could be useful for multi-disc albums, otherwise track # covers the same. Being able to hide like other columns would be a good thing.
