Please document or fix the fact that quick search for e.g. year:1939..1938 does not work as expected.

Also the search result probably shouldn't say any text field when limiting search field like year:

Well, so what? They fail to accord with the format requirement, being year:X..Y.

Whereas my example does. Could you kindly file my bug report without mixing in cases that do not belong with it? Thanks.

The tooltip indicates that field: value (with space in between should work).

Not for year, LL. Though that might be a typo:

Search Tips:
A : finds tracks with A* or á*
+A : finds tracks with A* only
"A" : finds tracks with A only
A B : finds tracks with A AND B
A OR B : finds tracks with either A or B
A -B : find tracks with A and NOT B
artist:A : finds tracks with Artist = A
year:X..Y : finds tracks in range X to Y
rating: X.. : finds tracks with X stars or more

Year and Rating should behave the same as they're numeric values and allow the same methods. I don't know if it's a typo in the tooltip (ie with space isn't implemented at all) or a bug, but I do believe for usability that the 2 formats should work (with/without space). On the same note your reverse values should probably be added as well.

Both reverse searches and searches with space after : work in 1213.
