1249 Right-click menu Play Now missing ENTER

1249 Right-click menu Play Now missing ENTER
1 Right-click any Tree node that can have tracks, or a track EDIT: in the Track List
2 Look at the first menu entry
Expected: Play Now . . . Enter, Alt+Enter
Observed: Play Now . . . Alt+Enter
EDIT: Likewise menu bar Play | Play Now.
Though why Alt+Enter is assigned, I cannot fathom.

Ahhhh, now that makes sense. Next question, mine has Play Now as Alt+Enter as the shortcut key. How did you get yours to Enter, did you change it?? Or is this a global shortcut that MM should be emulating? Shouldn't the Enter remain as Enter, because that is what I use mine for??

And do you find ENTER too is active?

Not to my knowledge!

It is a local shortcut, so ENTER in e.g. text input is unaffected.

In the NP Node and List, Enter is active. In the Main List, Enter selects the track to be played next.

Thanks.

That's the same action - "Play Now".
Thanks.

??? Play Now and Play Next are two separate actions, is yours using Enter to Play Now in the main track list??chrisjj wrote:

Agreed!

Yup!
Your "Enter selects the track to be played next" is what the MM UI calls "Play Now" not "Play Next"

Re: 1249 Right-click menu Play Now missing ENTER -------
In the Tracklist, Enter is the equivalent of a double-click on a track. Double-click / Enter, however, has different actions depending on context (whether tracks are stopped, or already playing), which is why Enter never appears as a shortcut there (this is configurable at Tools > Options > Player).

Sounds like that would make it all the more useful for it to appear, but I can see how this requires more effort that might be considered worthwhile.

Re: 1249 Right-click menu Play Now missing ENTER -------
It might be a bit more difficult, but I'm actually suggesting that it wouldn't be good to implement because it would be misleading. i.e. If a user sees the shortcut, they would expect that it works in all contexts, but it doesn't.> Double-click / Enter, however, has different actions depending on context...

Ok... but I must say that's not my experience. I find users expect the function of keys such as ENTER to be context dependent, and also e.g. DEL, which is already mentioned as a shortcut on this menu.
