1271 - Doesn't Respect Custom Location of DB/INI

Post by nynaevelan »

When I installed and started 1271 for the first time, it created new mediamonkey.ini and mm.db files instead of respecting the custom locations they were moved to. I did not install 1269 or 1270 so I am unsure if they have the same problem. I usually start MM from the custom toolbar with the /inifile option, but this is not the behavior of 1267, is this a bug or a regression?

strange, I have not had problem with my custom location, but I am not using command line I am using:

mediamonkey.ini stored in mm program folder
DBName=J:\program files\mediamonkey3\MM31.db

the only thing in my local settings\application data\mediamonkey is mediamonkey.m3u

The same here, but when I start 1267 from the custom shortcut or the mediamonkey.exe file, it uses my db and ini file, which are in it's program folder. But when I start 1271 with it's mediamonkey.exe file, it keeps creating a new ini and db file instead of using the custom location. Could the fact that this one has it's db and ini file on an external drive instead of in it's program folder have something to do with it??

duno, my mediamonkey and database are on my external drive

are you using vista/win 7?

perhaps its a credentials/permission/shortcut problem, maybe try logging out and back in (or rebooting), or make a new shortcut with the same commandline.

I am on Vista and my shortcut works as it should, it is when opening MM directly from the mediamonkey.exe that is not working correctly.

well, maybe this had some effect on you, I would still recommend rebooting and seeing if it still a problem.

I will try your suggestion but I have always had UAC turned off and I have never had the admin rights problem because I always install MM from the Run menu which is admin rights by default.

I tried rebooting but 1271 does not adhere to the same behavior as 1267.
