1271 - Nano 5G syncs very slowly [#6027]

Running 1271 and syncing playlists to a 5G nano the process seems about 3x slower than with previous gens. CPU seems to be running higher too and I think it is to do with creating the voice over wav files in iPod_Control\Speakable.

Can we have an option to disable the creation of these files?

Although it doesn't seem to be that slower on my machine (just about 30% slower), it's a good idea to make this optional. In the next release it will be possible to set Voice to 'None' and thus disable it and make everything faster.

After doing a restore on the iPod and clearing out the Device and DeviceTracks tables in the database the sync did seem to run close to normal speed. Your estimate of 30% slower is about right.

Thanks for making this optional, you might also want to add \iPod_Control\Speakable to the default exclude list when Voice Over is enabled?

Hi, i had a problem with 1271 and the same with the new 1276. I sync my files with my ipod, set Voice configuration to none and after finishing device-database update i get the error message 'Exception ESQLiteException in module d_iPod.dll at 00035D55' (the module number in 1271 was slightly different).

Does anybody know something about that?
