My iPhone/iTunes/MM experience (1271) [Bug#6031]

OK, I still have problems with my iPhone and iTunes...

iPhone 3GS 3.0.1
iTunes 8.2.1.6
Win XP SP3

My major problems are:
- Can't see iPhone downloaded music and/or videos after syncing with MM
- After syncing with MM and then going back into iTunes and then exiting (after 60 seconds), all music's play positions are set to the end of the song.

Here is what I do...
(1) Go into MM and clear all the syncing checkboxes for the iPhone
(2) Sync the iPhone with MM and exit - these two steps clears the iPhone of all music
(3) Go into iTunes and do a sync/backup and exit - I have manual management enabled and I only sync applications - this steps recreates my iPhones purchased music and videos - I can watch my videos and listen to my purchased music fine
(4) Go into MM and re-enable the check the box's of the playlists I want on the iPhone for a total of around 400 mp3 (and converted flacs).
(5) Sync the iPhone with MM; when the "do I want to delete these files pop's up, I untick Playlist: Purchased
(6) Exit MM
(7) Music plays fine and looks to have the right album art, the Purchased playlist now has non-purchased MM music in it, and no purchased music.
(8) Go into iTunes and leave it for 60 seconds then exit. No sync'ing or backup.
(9) Now the music has it play position set AT THE END of each song and as such, when I press play, it goes through the whole playlist/album in a couple of seconds without playing anything. If I then go back and play each song, they play fine from the start.

I'm happy to do debug captures, send a MP3 and pull the iPhone database(s) off the phone before and after any of this if it will help you. Just let me know where in the above steps you want it and what files you want.
