1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns [#6186]
It isn't a big deal. It only took me a few minutes to fix, but build 1292 resets the display preferences for Tree Nodes and also for Columns.

Confirmed in 1292. Just finished adjusting my own layouts.
I think it is a side-effect of the ongoing saga with http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6168

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Same here. I upgraded from 1290.
It seems there is a little confusion on build numbers. The thread for beta builds actually lists build 1292 as 1293.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Can you explain more what is getting messed up? I am not seeing any problems but the only customization I have is which nodes/columns are visible by filter and these all seem to be working as I set them up. And I upgraded from 1290 also. I also cannot comment on the default behavior of the nodes since I only use the native genre node.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Ummm. I have a very specific column order that I use and several columns that I regularly hide/unhide (Disc#,OriginalArtist,Composer,Custom1,Custom2,Custom5,Filename). It is really obvious to me when things are not as I expect.
Not a big job to fix it, but, as I said very obvious when arbritarily changed. Can't remember exactly where and what was wrong, too busy fixing it. At least Now Playing, Location nodes, and one AutoPlaylist were affected.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
I just did a test of a changed filter prior to upgrading and the settings were still active after the upgrade. Maybe it is only specific to certain nodes and/or columns??

Edit: Just broke out the sippin whiskey. That's it for testing for tonight.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
I have the Now Playing, Location, Net Radio, and Web tree nodes hidden. When I updated to 1292, they were all visible again. Plus it reset my order of the tree nodes.
Likewise, I have Disc #, bit rate, etc. shown in columns. Many of these were turned off once I upgraded to 1292. Plus the order of the columns was rearranged. And the size of some of the columns changed.
It all only took a few minutes to fix, no big deal.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Ok:
I do not know how this is related but because I was testing in my test account yesterday, when I opened my live account all my columns have been reverted to the defaulted columns. Very annoying, I assume the column info is saved in the registry. I wish there was away to have it remember which settings go with which account. And while fixing mine was not as easy as some, I do not understand why the settings were messed up since they are saved in the db.
But luckily I had a backup I was able to use as a template to fix them back.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Actually, I think MediaMonkey.ini->System->DefaultViewSettings= contains most, if not all, of the relevant settings.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Really? Then what purpose does the filters table serve? Doesn't it have the conditions and view settings?? Either way I wish it would save everything relevant to that account with that account. I cannot imagine how multi-users with the same user account handle things. Not to mention it is recommended by some to use multiple instances but this causes problems and conflicts, especially on my system because my account has no scripts and my live account is very script heavy.

Re: 1292 - Resets Tree Nodes and Columns
Yeah. I forgot about those. The .ini probably controls default (i.e. no filter in effect) settings....
Just checked my two most used filters, they look basically ok. I had not spent as much time carefully organizing their column order and hide/show status, so if something has changed I am not sure I would recognize it.
