Secondly, on the fly Auto-Conversion of video doesn't actually work yet for UPnP.
My problem is that I'm missing MPEG4 as Codec when I set to convert video to MP4 Video. X264 seems to be giving me issues when manual conversion is used so I'd like to be able to use MPEG 4 instead.

Tracked as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=7400.
On the fly autoconversion should work only for WMV.

Thanks, I was worried it was a choice not to include it. The fact that it's now fixed doesn't mean that on the fly conversion for MP4 works yet does it?

On the fly conversion to MP4 will not work (at least in MM4.0). Our muxer does not support streaming version of MP4, it is quite different from usual MP4.
Re: 1349: MPEG4 missing from MP4 UPnP auto-conversion [#7400
Oh, that's really bad news especially as MPEG2 also won't be supported due to licensing cost. Then all the formats that won't be supported for on the fly conversion for UPnP should be removed as conversion options.

Hunted this one down finally.
I'm somewhat disappointed to find out that auto-conversion is only going to be for wmv as PS3's don't support WMV playback
edit: never mind found this:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... mv#p312041
edit2: So further examination says PS3s *can* play wmv, you just have to enable wma playback first: http://manuals.playstation.net/document ... types.html
I just can't get it working with MM's auto-conversion....
Show info on an flv file which plays fine in MM, on the PS3 shows correctly as VLC-1 (WMV) and the correct length.
On hitting play though, I get "The data type is not supported"

Any ETA? Will this be before release? Or is it more a >=4.1 thing? We plan on-fly converting to streaming version of MP4 format, but this is quite complex issue and will not be in MM4.0 yet.

As stated it won't be in MediaMonkey 4, thus it will be in a later version.
