Just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7, SP1, and MediaMonkey, using a database from my working version of MM3 that MM4 upgraded without error.
I can use MediaMonkey fine (better than any previous version of MM4 so far), however as soon as I try to play any song, Now Playing loads the next 10 songs from Auto-DJ, and then MediaMonkey freezes. The song plays through to completion while the interface is frozen, and then the last part repeats over and over again until I simply end the process.
All of my other issues seem to have been fixed, but now this one is one of the worst I've experienced yet. There are no crash reports as far as I know, as it simply freezes and I have to close the process via Windows.

Re: 1388: Freezes when I start playing
I found out it only happens when I'm using AutoDJ. I have it set to Playlist and it's using one of my auto-playlists that filters the songs I don't want to hear.
I see the next 10 tracks show up in Now Playing when it's enabled, so I know it works, but then it always freezes the UI immediately after that.
Works fine when I disable AutoDJ.
Update: Just tested, and it doesn't matter what I have selected for AutoDJ. Even if I leave it on 'Entire Library', it loads 10 songs and then immediately freezes (the current song continues to play through to the end, then repeats the last several seconds over and over again).

If you're using an AutoPlaylist it's advices to reduce the amount of tracks on the AutoPlaylist to 10 (if you're loading 10 tracks automatically), this speeds AutoDJ up.
I can attest that AutoDJ can cause some slowness, but I haven't seen anything that severe (I do limit the AutoPlaylists it uses). You might want to send a debug log to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Re: 1388: Freezes when I start playing
I agree that having a large autoplaylist slows AutoDJ down a bit, but AutoDJ does its thing immediately and the ten tracks it chose show up in Now Playing within a second or so (out of about 40,000 tracks, that's not bad). But then it freezes, seemingly after it should be finished with the AutoPlaylist.

A debug log would give information to the developers of what is really happening behind the scenes.
