[1414] Problems with sorting [#8260]

Post by jmz1 »

Fresh install of 1414 on Windows 7.

I can't get my sorting to work properly. I've got one collection enabled, 'Entire Library'. I'm used to having a single sort by Date in MM3, which also sorts by track number, in Artwork with Details view. This is what I get when I view the Entire Library collection, as in the first image.

When using the child Artist/Album Artist views, the track order is jumbled (sorted alphabetically, it seems). No combination of ctrl+clicking Date/Track, restarting, playing with collections seems to help.

Anyone know what I'm missing? Other than this, MM4 is brilliant.

Bump, anyone? This is somewhat silly. It works perfectly in my Recently Added auto-playlist, and in Collection root folders, but anything inside that, the effect described above occurs.

I have noticed the same annoying bug in [1415].

It seems to be working fine here in 1415:

It only happens in Artist-AlbumArtist with only AlbumArt view. When you double click an album cover it starts playing the song in alphabetical order (visible in playlist). Also when you move your mouse over the albumart it, the pop up balloon shows the songs in alphabetical order, not ordered by song number.
When you use Album view instead, everything is fine :-? .

Yes, I can confirm that the 'Album' view seems immune to this effect, when using the exact same sort options in different views.

I am not understanding the problem, the issue pointed in the screenshot in the first post is not reproducible on my end.

It would be the same sort order as in the details view. So how are the tracks sorted there? Again, works fine for me:

Ive fiddled around with everything you just said Bobble and I'm with nohitter151 and I can't seem to reproduce this as well. Ive noticed on your last picture you didnt actually order it by date so you should try to order it by date and post back to see if its happening again.

'Album' view is ok. Just select 'Artist & Album Artist' view and see what happens then.

I have tried with Artist and Album Artist view because that's what i always use and i can't reproduce. If you sort with ctrl+date+album artist+track# then that should sort it properly.

I ordered it by date and it's ok! Thanks! But I still don't have any clue why? :-?
