- 5.1 Flac: I either get weird stuttering pulsating audio, or no audio (the DTS light on the receiver keeps turning on and off, over and over)
- 5.1, 24-bit, 96khz, Flac: On one single occasion the receiver has switched to PCM but only 2 channels, all other times the receiver shows "Pro Logic".
- DTS .wav: Mostly plays fine, but seeking doesn't work (results in audio disappearing and the DTS logo on the receiver keeps turning on and off, over and over) [Update: I created a seperate thread for the seeking bug here]

I created a separate thread for the seeking bug, since it's possible that's not related: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=60031
Re: [1421] Very unreliable surround sound playback with WASA
Have you tried to disable Events-driven mode in Advanced options of the WASAPI plug-in. In case it doesn't work, does any other player work well?

WASAPI still doesn't work for me with MM. Other players work fine with WASAPI.

But selecting exclusive mode just below the device drop-down box works for me.
What does that mean?
Re: [1421] Very unreliable surround sound playback with WASA
Well, I am back using the DirectSound output plug-in without any Thread Creation Errors using MM v4.0.0.1430.
I just need to be able to get the WASAPI output plug-in working without having to use Exclusive Mode.

beatrice,
I'm not sure I understand the reference to 'Thread creation errors'. What does that have to do with output plugins?
Thanks.

Re: [1421] Very unreliable surround sound playback with WASA
Well I can not get DTS play back to work either.
What should the output plugin be?
guess: WASAPI
What should its config be?
Guess:
device: Digital Audio (S/PDIF)(High definition Audio Device)
Exclusive mode (auto choice of format per track)
all other options disabled (no cross fade/nor remove silence etc)
Under Advanced: leave as default (so with Event driven excl, and event driven shared)
(but have tried having them ticked and not ticked!)
In windows 7 (SP1) the audio device (s/pdif) can have different format enabled (by going
to the "speaker" icon on the tool bar, then mixer, then clicking the s/pdif driver, then supported
formats) so I have selected that my digital receiver will decode DTS Audio, Dolby Digital, then
under sample rates 44.1, 48.0, 96.0 as they all mde noise for me, also had it played sounds for
88.2, 176.4, 192.0 but thought I should disable them as it maybe confusing MM/windows? under
enhancements I have disabled all, levels is set to 100, advanced I have 2 channel 24 bit 96000Hz
for shared mode (default was I think 2 channel 16bit 44100Hz).
However my DTS files when played are just white noise!, also AC3 files do not play either
just white noise. But my amp can decode both. Any thoughts

Re: [1421] Very unreliable surround sound playback with WASA
MM 4.0 doesn't support non-pcm audio output. It's planned for post 4.0.
