I need an explanation: When removing all available album arts from a single MP3 file and start re-tagging it from the internet the album art is added twice, using MM4 (build 1426), btw.
The file properties in MM4 now shows two times the same album art picture (cover-frontside) why this? I did not found a way to get rid of this behavior so far, do you?
Is there a script to remove duplicate pictures from MP3 files? I guess MM4 does not offer an option to do this - at least I did not find one

Yes, I've checked it before and could swear there was no folder.jpg in the file's folder. Now there is one and when hovering over the appropriate image, the hint shows the different locations: tag and folder.
Maybe the last time I tried some steps to reproduce this, MM4 did not delete the additional folder.jpg properly from disk, one never knows. Anyway its solved. Perhaps the cover art dialog, in file properties, should indicate more prominent that one picture is stored inside a tag and another one is located on disk.
I could image some kind of an overlay image on the cover art picture similar as Windows Explorer does with a file link arrow?
Thanks, I know this option already more than anything else now
My suggestion towards the cover art dialog in file properties was to get a better impression where the file is located. The very first look, w/o hovering over the images, looks like the images are available twice.
To make sure we're talking about the same issue, can you describe the exact set of steps you took to save artwork for your clean MP3 files (clean meaning no AA tags or or images saved to the directory)?
The deleted album art comes back at a later time. I use both mp3 and wav files. I imported all my music into the MM library and it had a lot of duplicate album art with different picture resolutions. So I highlighted the one to delete, checked apply to all and then deleted. I even get the pop up message saying I am removing the image from the folder, and it asks me if I want to permamently delete it from my computer as well. I tell it yes. It was definitely gone, and the one left is what I wanted. But later as I opened the properties I noticed both images were there again. I have tried deleting ALL images from the song, with the same pop ups appearing and telling me they are permamently deleted from my computer. Then I import a new image using auto tag and either place it in the tag or in the folder, depending on whether it's an mp3 or wav file. Everything is fine. But later I look at the properties and the old images have returned, with the new one I added still there as well. My options setting is set to save images to tag if possible, otherwise save to folder, but not both. Regarding various artist cd's that were ripped, I want to delete the album art for the disc and individually add the album art for each song using auto tag. Again, I delete original art and tell it yes please permamently delete image from computer. Then I use auto tag to find appropriate art for each song individually and apply album art to each folder. Yes the songs have first been removed from the various artists folder and moved to their new folder individually for each artist/song. But I'm telling you the original art work shows back up later. If I sync music to my mp3 player it syncs the album art with it like I want. But it sends all pictures, and my mp3 player shows all pictures, changing every 10 seconds or so. This is really annoying. Regarding wav files only that have images saved to album folder, when I check the folder in My Computer only the jpg picture I saved and told to keep shows up there. The pictures I delete never appear there, even when they show back up in MM. I have the folder setting to show all files, including hidden files. But these annoying supposedly deleted images do not show up in My Computer. I just want them gone, forever!! Is there a glitch here?
