1434: Rated song right before end, MM closed down [#8415]

Post by bmcclure »

I know I'm 2 versions behind, I'm updating now so that I can see if it occurs again, but I figured it can't hurt to report it.

Right in the last second of a song, I clicked to set a new rating, and MediaMonkey shut down immediately. There were no errors, and no chance to create a debug log--it was almost as if I had clicked Exit, although it usually takes more time to close down than that--it literally closed the very instant that I set the rating. I checked immediately after to see if the mediamonkey.exe process was still running, but it was not.

This just occurred for me on build 1439 in the last second of a 13 minute 320 mbps MP3 file. Rating it right at the end caused MediaMonkey to close immediately.

In case you could reproduce, would you have a debug log?

Thanks,

It doesn't crash for me, MM simply exits--is there still some way I could generate a log?

Yes, standard debug log using DebugView utilily would be useful.

Finally got set up to get a debug log of the issue, but I think it might actually be fixed in build 1440... no matter how hard I try, I can't get the issue to occur so far.

I'll follow up if I can get it to happen again and capture debug info. Thanks!

Scratch that, it happened and gave me the opportunity to send a debug log. Did it come through?

Did you e-mail it directly to me (jh at mediamonkey dot com)?

It was a crash report, so it only gave me the option to say what I was doing and enter my email address.

Is there somewhere I can look up the contents of that crash report to email to you, or is it gone after that?

Well, no, we looked for it, but nothing came. Could you look into MM folder, just in case the *.elf file is there?

Yes, the file was still in my MediaMonkey folder--not sure why it didn't send before.

You should have it in your email now. Let me know if you don't get it or need any further information.

Thanks!
