Losing album art when converting from FLAC to MP3/M4A [#8513
Hello all. I've been using MM for many years now, and I honestly can't remember if this was an issue in previous versions (forgive me if it's already been mentioned, I did a search and couldn't find it). I have noticed that when I take a FLAC file with the artwork embedded in the tag, and I convert it to another format (usually MP3/M4A), I lose that embedded artwork and have to re-tag the newly created files. All of the other tag information is saved. Is this because of something I'm doing wrong? Here's my procedure:

Mantis claims that this was fixed in build 1444. I am using build 1511 and it is behaving as in original post: converting from FLAC to MP3 loses the artwork. Actually, what happens, I think, is that the art file is added, but not embedded in each track. I am converting multiple albums from the same artist into a single folder and all albums in this new folder use the same art instead of unique art for each album.

Is the Artwork embedded in the FLAC? It will only be embedded in the MP3 if it was embedded in the FLAC file.
I just tested and converted 1 FLAC file with embedded Artwork to MP3 and it had the Artwork embedded as well.

No, the FLAC artwork was stored in a jpg file. I did check 'Save image to tag (if possible)... in the Library Options. Was hoping this would take care of it. I get the same behavior when selecting a file with the correct artwork along with the files to tag amd then selecting "Apply to selected tracks" It does not embed the artwork, only creates another file.

Then it will be the same for the converted file. You can use the Album Art Tagger addon to embed external Artwork in the FLAC's after which converting to MP3 should have them embedded as well: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... art+taggerkdeemer wrote:o, the FLAC artwork was stored in a jpg file.
