Hallo,
i´am using 4.0.0.1448.
I tagged a few songs with Picard. When i update my folder, i can see the right tagged informations of my files. When try to Auto-Organize selected files, the tag informations change to the file name informations. The file name informations shows also in the Auto-Organize window. So i cannot change original filename to tag informations.
When i´am back in track list, i still see the file name informations. When i press F5 the tag informations change from filen name to the right tag informations from Picard.
Is that a bug or a feature? Wrong options? What can i do?
Thank you,
Jochen

Re: Auto-Organize change Tag to Filename
I'm a little confused what you are talking about.
If you want to change tags using info from file path, use Tools > Auto-tag from filename
If you want to change file path using tags, use Tools > Auto-organize files
If you simply want to update tags in the MM database since the tags were updated with an external program (like Picard), then rescan the files at File > Add/rescan or enable the file monitor.

Are you viewing the files a Collection node or the My Computer node?

Strange.
In the view My computer i see the tagged informations of my songs.
In the view Collection node Location in my folder, i see the orignal tagged informations!? How can this happen? Rescan and restart doesn´t help.
When i try to Auto-Organize the tagged informations changed to the original info as like show in Collection view.
I normally want to change folder and file name to the new tag information shown in My computer view. It worked the last few hundred times ...

Re: Auto-Organize change Tag to Filename
Do you have "Update Track info from Tags when rescanning files" check under "Library" in the options? Is so, you may also try unchecking "Only for files with changed timestamp or filesize" and then trying scanning the files again.
Re: Auto-Organize change Tag to Filename
Thank you all for help. It was a feature. Don´t really know, how it worked for such long time, but perhaps it´s a reason of change Beta builds.
Anyway. The Options - Library - Update file ...
without the checked Only for files with ...
and rescan helped and solved my problem!
Re: Auto-Organize change Tag to Filename
I guess the My Computer node defaults to using Library values on Auto-Organize Files which sounds like a bug to me.
Yes, when using the Library (Collection node) it would require the database to be updated when the file was changed outside of MediaMonkey. Running MediaMonkey with the File Monitor active on the folder you're editing files in would automatically pick up changes when their made by the outside program. Otherwise Add/Rescan Tracks will do so. Only in few occasions it would require disabling the Timestamp option.
