Column lay out different in each window

Hi there,

After installing MM4 4.00.14.55 I set up a personal screen using the column selector (right-click on any column). However, when I engage a search action, the search results are presented with a column layout that differs from the columns I selected. Also, when I use '+' to open a new tab, this screen has an other column lay-out than the initial screen.

Like with MM3, I want to have ONE default screen lay-out which remains the same throughout all screens.

Can this be fixed?

I believe the search results uses the "Entire library" column configuration.

Remember, each "collection" can have its own custom headers. If you want them all to always match, you can set each collection to share the same settings as "entire library", and then just arrange the "entire library" header settings.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly. I open MM; I click somewhere in the left pane and get some tracks in a certain view (the view I want). Then I press CTRL-F and I start a search. The search results are presented in another tab, but with other columns (and columns in different order).

Can you point out what I must do in order to get the same columns everywhere in MM4?

As I said, columns settings are not saved universally. They are saved per collection. So if you change the columns while viewing the "Music" collection, they are only saved there. Those settings would not affect the look of search results or other collections.

The search results always use the "Entire library" collection settings (not the settings from the collection you were viewing previously). Collection settings are managed at File > Manage collections.

fyi, the 'New tab' issue is fixed in build 1456.
