There maybe two bugs here.theta_wave wrote:I have autoplaylists that sync music with certain criteria to my iPod touch 4 (iOS 5.1, 60gig). I tried to sync ~8,000 of songs, audiobooks and podcasts to my now-clean iPod touch. About 3/4 of them are FLACs. When I am about to sync, the summary tab lists that I was going to sync 49.2gigs of tunes (size after transcode), as indicated by the picture below. My transcode settings are listed below in the pic.
The syncing process died at around the 667th song with an error message that there was sufficient space for the operation. I first checked my HDD thinking it ran out of space, but it didn't. I checked my iPod and I see that it had only 800mb left and nothing listed under Music or Audiobooks.
I can synch small autosynch playlists, progressively adding playlists, but if I try and add a large number of files at a time I get the same error "sufficient space for the operation".
Looking at the free memory while doing the transfer it is progressively consumed. Quitting out of MM4 releases all the consumed memory, however it takes MM about 30sec to fully quit and release the memory.
Restarting MM allows more files to be synced provided the PC doesn't run out of memory (by repeating the above procedure.
I'm not and expert in PC programming but the does look like a memory leak or at least a memory management problem.
Note: Syncing to iPhone 4 from windows 32 fully up to date. MM 4.0.5.1483
I did need to delete the iPhone 4 settings from MM to get file transfer working at all. See
Tools -> Options -> Portable/Audio devices -> select and delete the device you are trying to synch to then restart MM and reconnect the device.
