Hello,
I'm using MM 4.1.0.1622. I can select my Samsung TV as playback device ([TV]UE55ES6760).
When I start Playback, the TV switches into media screen but displays an error message saying that "this kind of file is not supported at the moment".
My music is stored on a NAS in my LAN. But that is not the problem, because I can acces this music using my Android phone and stream it to the TV. Then everything ist fine. Same file, just a different upnen server (Twonky).
Why can't I stream to my Samsung?
Greetings
Alex

Re: UPNP not supported on Symsung SmartTV
May be a conversion/file type setting, check the Media Server settings for conversion rules under Tools > Options > Media Servers in MediaMonkey.

Re: UPNP not supported on Symsung SmartTV
You mean
Tools - Options- Library - Medea Sharing (UPnP/DLNA)?
There I have 2 Servers:
MediaMonkey Library
MediaMonkey Server
I guess the first (MediaMonkey Library) ist the one I have to change...
Conversion settings are as installed, I additionally tried "Any audio. Above 160 kbps), even changed that to above 128, but no effect. Still the message "he file is not supported at the moment". (I have only mp3 files)-
Tested the same setting with the "MediaMonkey Server".. didn't work as well.
I don't know much about that Samsung Allshare Play, but I think it should be capable of playing mp3 files with a higher bitrate and even vbr. Anyway, the BubbleUPnP App on my android does the job on the Samsung TV...
EDIT:
I'm not sure if the Media Server settings are relevant at all. I treid to connect to the MM Library from within the Samsung AllShare app on my TV. Now MM asked me to allow the connection.
That way I can access the wohle MM library on the TV, playback words perfectly.
But still not the other way: I want to use MM as control point and the TV should only be used for playback. There i still get the error message. It seems to me that there is a problem in the way MM talks to the TV renderer...

Upgrade to build 1623, create a debug log (step 4b) of the failure to send files to the Samsung TV and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Re: UPNP not supported on Samsung SmartTV
I've tested the functionality on a very similar Samsung TV model and it worked fine.
So debug log from build 1623 should tell more as LL suggested.

Re: UPNP not supported on Samsung SmartTV
This was resolved via eSupport,
the TV was not checked in Options->Media Sharing-><Server>->[Devices] tab
and thus the connection was denied.
It seems that we should improve the workflow and rather inform users why the file cannot be played to the TV, traked as
