when i drag/drop an image onto the artwork properties page, it is being entered twice. kinda. what happens is this:
1 - right click selection, goto properties, then the artwork tab.
2 - drag image from google into that box.
it pops up the add artwork window like it is supposed to, but is just the default image there. click cancel on that one, and it pops up the real add artwork window with the correct art.
i am using w7 ultimate x64 and firefox to do the image adding part.
ps - if it matters or not, if i do not click anything on the add artwork window, my cursor stays locked as the copy item cursor (little arrow with the plus by it) no matter what window i try to use.

I very seldom use MM for artwork and/or tags but just tried this and see it a little different.
after D&D i get the popup window asking 'Image type' with 'not specified' defaulted (it would be nice if it was Front Cover).
After I selected Front Cover and okay it popped up again. Doesn't sound the same to me but maybe I am just reading your post wrong.

Lag time from storage server to your computer sounds like the cause.
Re: art issue - MM 4.1.0.1624
i am probably not describing it correctly. i took some screenshots to show what is happening.
1 - everything open the way i normally do it

2 - drag from google to mm and it pops up this first box

3 - click ok or cancel, it pops up the second box with the cover in it

4 - if i clicked ok in #2, it has both images added to the tag. the correct one and the default one

ps - after reading the post from imagehopper, i think it is just an issue dragging from firefox to mm. if i drag from windows explorer, works fine. drag anything (remote or local image) from firefox, and it pops up the blank box first.

ok. just wanted to let someone know, as it is working fine in 4.0.7.1511. didn't mean to bring up an old issue.
