I have my tablet configured with the "Use only 1st Genre" set off at Options|PortableDevices|Options|Tagging
The Genre index on MMW goes Genre->Artist, and then lists only albums from the artist which contained the selected genre
On MMA is is also Artist->Genre, but then it drills down into *all* the albums for the artist, regardless of whether the albums contain any tracks for the selected genre
The MMW behaviour is preferred.
MMW: v4.1.0.1629
MMA: v1.0.4.0018

Re: MMA Genre index works differently to MMW
I think you meant, "On MMA, it is also Genre->Artist...", so the rest of this comment is under that assumption.Barry4679 wrote:... On MMA is is also Artist->Genre, but then ...
I'm not seeing this behavior. For example, I have four Jimi Hendrix albums in my sync. One of the albums has tracks with the Blues genre. When I tap Genre > Blues > Jimi Hendrix, I only get that album.
Remember when Last.fm had those cool imagegen charts for use in signatures?
Re: MMA Genre index works differently to MMW
Yes I meant Genre->Artist
I have that Hendrix album too. It is the only Hendrix one that I have with tracks tagged as Blues, but when I go, via UPnP, Blues->Hendrix I see all of my (16
) Hendrix albums listed.
You said "in my synch" ... you looking via the the MMA UPnP client of MMA, or are you looking at tracks that you have downloaded into your tablet? ... I am using the UPnP button from the MMA front page.
Also, we on the same s/w levels?

MMA: v1.0.4.0018
EDIT: forgot to mention that Blues->Hendrix on MMW shows only 1 one album

Genre shows all Artist Albums over DLNA/UPnP
You should've mentioned UPnP navigation in the first post instead of throwing us of with sync settings (which have no affect as explained before on UPnP).

yep, sorry.Lowlander wrote:You should've mentioned UPnP navigation in the first post instead of throwing us of with sync settings (which have no affect as explained before on UPnP).
I was thinking that we were talking specifically about Auto-Conversion settings before, but I now see that the whole Options|PortableDevices entity is about Synch. Gotya.
It should be renamed from Option|PortableAudioDevices to Options|PortableDeviceSynch IMO. ... Would have saved me a lot of confusion.
