I am using MMW 4.1.0.1661 and MMA 1.0.4.0164. I am syncing with an Acer A500 tablet. I got all of my music and playlists on the external SD card of my tablet by syncing with a USB connection. That process was fraught with many challenges, but I finally got it done.
During those initial sessions when I was connecting the tablet to my PC MMW would show both the internal and the external memory for my tablet. (It had them reversed, but the process of getting my files onto the external memory still worked). However, now when I connect my tablet via USB, MMW only recognizes the internal memory. It still labels it as the external SD card. But the main problem is that it is really the internal memory. The external memory on the table no longer shows up. This became a problem today when I added new music to my MMW library. After connecting my tablet to the PC, MMW did not even attempt to sync the new files to the tablet. I assume this is because the external memory (where I originally synced all my music to) isn't showing up in MMW.
What can I do?

Make sure the external memory isn't disabled (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync).
If it isn't create a debug log (step 4b), run MMW and DBGView prior to connecting device, and send it support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Re: Problem syncing via USB
Thanks. I don't know how the external memory got disabled, but enabling it solved part of the problem. Now, MMW recognizes the external storage on my tablet when I plug it in via USB. However, the syncing process still doesn't work properly. I see two problems.
1. Every time I click 'Auto Sync' MMW syncs my playlists. This happens *every time*. Even though they are synced previously.
2. New music in my MMW isn't synced to my tablet.

1) This should be captured in a debug log.
2) Are you sure new music is selected to be synced?

I re-opened http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11068 to fix it also for M3U playlists.DannyDeLoach wrote: 1. Every time I click 'Auto Sync' MMW syncs my playlists. This happens *every time*. Even though they are synced previously.

Re: Problem syncing via USB
Thanks for those who have posted helpful ideas. First, I need to clarify that I am using the latest version of MMA (version 1.0.4.0167), not version .1064 as I indicated in my original post. Sorry for any confusion that created.
I discovered that the reason that new music files in the MMW library weren't syncing to MMA is because, indeed, I did not have new music selected to be synced. I had changed that previously, because MMW seemed to randomly sync some music files, even when they were already on MMA. However, I'll keep new music selected for sync from now on, and if I notice previously synced music files begin to be synced again, then I'll address that if/when it happens again.
Regarding the perpetual syncing of playlists... I followed Ludek's link (http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11068). The most recent note for that issue says:
"Fixed in build 1622.
i.e. if the same M3U with the same content already exists on the device, then the file is not re-copied needlessly."
Please help me understand what this means. Does this mean that this issue was fixed in a yet-to-be-released beta build?
One final question about syncing. If I delete a music file from my MMW library, should it be deleted from my MMA library? I would like this to happen. I tried checking the option for "Delete other files and playlists from the device" on the "Auto-Sync (->Device)" tab, but this didn't cause files deleted in MMW to be also deleted in MMA.
