Beta BUG? MM Service does not seem to watch dirs

Post by dtsig »

I have never tried this but have been told the that service does most everything. If I drop a new video file into a watched directory MM does not get updated with the file.

Why is this? Problem with the beta?

Ludek, Since this is still happening on 1672 (boy you guys are slow <G>) I just read the issue again and see that there has been no further discussion on the mantis page.

I agree that since (hopefully) the service will be expanded it does make very good sense to give it it's own Tool/Options/Library listing.

And, although I can't imagine not having it setup on my server, it does make sense to make it an option for when installing on my laptop or ..

Mighten this not give plugins more ability. A simple example would be backup. If you were running MMS and watching a lot, the backup addon might be expanded to fire off at 00:00 or ... Or maybe schedule a library maintenance to run at that time or ...

I really hope that this doesn't become one of those entries that sits around for years (some really good ideas in there). I think enhancing the service (and even as discussed elsewhere separating ui and service) is a really great way to go .. though the latter is way down the road <G>.

Thanks again to entering it and taking it serious. Even if this doesn't happen I really love MM.
