MediaMonkey 5.0.0.2251 Beta

Post by rusty » Sat May 23, 2020 11:09 pm

Hi,

Here's a new build that includes another 20+ fixes and improvements. Details are in the changelog.

Also, there's a new version of the codec pack, that fixes a crash with certain alac files.

If you're interested in helping out with translations, please send me a private message--we're close to finalizing the strings. Thanks!

Also, you'll notice that this latest build has a different icon (it's the icon from the version of MediaMonkey that was available on the Windows Store a few years back). We were experimenting with it, but probably won't stick with it. If you're graphically talented and have some different ideas for a MediaMonkey icon, please share them in the forum. Thanks!

Test Notes:
  • This is pre-release software and is being provided for feedback/testing and development purposes -- please backup your files to protect against data loss.
  • Installation of MediaMonkey 5 can be on top of MediaMonkey 4, or independent of MediaMonkey 4. If you run both versions, changes made in one DB will not be reflected in the other.
  • If you have a MediaMonkey 3/4 Gold license, Gold functionality will be active until MediaMonkey 5 licenses are made available for sale.
  • Scripts / Addons from MediaMonkey 4 are not compatible.
Download Installation:
  • Double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions. It's recommended that you install it to a different directory than your existing MediaMonkey installation. For example:
    • In portable mode: /Temp/Portable Apps/MediaMonkey 5/ so as to preserve your existing MediaMonkey installation.
    • In regular mode: ...Program Files (x86)/MediaMonkey 5/...
  • The codec pack can be installed from within MediaMonkey via Tools > Extensions . Note that it is only compatible with MediaMonkey 5
Looking forward to your feedback!

Hi,

Here's a new MM5 build with about 10 or so fixes and improvements. Details are in the changelog.

Re. translations strings, we're in the process of setting up a translation server--it should be much easier than the poedit-based solution that we used in the past. If you're interested in helping out with this, send me a private message. Thanks!
