1) Configure a generic device to sync one playlist.
2) On Summary, verify sufficient space: http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3519/regionyg.png
3) Click auto-sync
Expected: auto-sync without confirmation request
Observed: dialog "There isn't enough space on the device to synchronize selected files. Would you like to continue?"
Workaround: click OK.
This with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit using Windows Classic theme.

Here's an instance on 1708, Creative ZEN (MTP):
"There isn't enough space on the device to synchronize selected files" http://i.imgur.com/etFG5JY.png
but format and retry gives no such complaint: http://i.imgur.com/FwI01G6.png , and completes with >800Mb free.
Given this setting:

I think this is proof that, as has been suggested in other forum reports of this issue, MM is failing to calculate correctly when there are files already on the device.

There could have been other non-media files on the device before formatting.chrisjj wrote: I think this is proof that, as has been suggested in other forum reports of this issue, MM is failing to calculate correctly when there are files already on the device.

There were only the files that MM auto-sync had previously put on the device. But I accept that report does not show that. Can you suggest a way to show that?nohitter151 wrote:There could have been other non-media files on the device before formatting.
I am assuming that MM UI "media files" includes everything MM would put on the device.

No, but you didn't mention that earlier. I'd just take your word for it.chrisjj wrote:There were only the files that MM auto-sync had previously put on the device.
