The new iPhone drivers crash Media Monkey every time.
iTunes 8.2 was released and installed new iPhone drivers. Now Media Monkey will not stay open with the iPhone 3G connected. I don't know how to do a debug report because I got no prompt to send one, just instant shut down of Media Monkey every time. It works without the iPhone attached. Does the beta version work with the new drivers? I can't stand iTunes. Thanks!

The knowledgebase says 8.1.0 should be installed:

Any idea when the newer iTunes version will be supported? Will it be at the same time 3.0 is supported? Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes causes me too many problems with the apps.
Actually the phone worked fine with the last version, which was 8.1.1. With the new iTunes, MM does recognize the phone but crashes immediately.

It didn't for me. After I upgraded to 8.1.1 MM no longer recognized my phone at all; has worked fine for me after downgrading to 8.1.0.Music Diva wrote: Actually the phone worked fine with the last version, which was 8.1.1. With the new iTunes, MM does recognize the phone but crashes immediately.

There's something different about 8.2. I think it's for 3.0 support. I'm wondering if the beta MMs will work.
Otherwise I'll have to switch to a Walkman phone until there's support for 3.0. I haven't loaded 3.0 on my iPhone, but I'm suspecting that it and 8.2 are closely tied(they said that basically) so that may be part of the problem. The crashing is very disappointing.

Does anyone know if any of the betas work with the new iTunes? I'm wary of returning to an old one because I did that once and had problems somehow verifying the apps I purchased from the Store when I reinstalled. I also "lost" part of my purchased library and had to resync.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I only know that 8.1.1 does not work with the current beta. I have not tried 8.2.Music Diva wrote:Does anyone know if any of the betas work with the new iTunes? I'm going to bet you cannot use any new features(the conference next week is likely to announce new features) or 3.0 without iTunes 8.2. That's how Apple likes to do things and another reason to dislike iTunes.
Hopefully you all can get it working by the fall at the very latest. I now have to get a Walkman phone to tide me over. And the new one that's any good that was released for the US is $600
.
Either that or look into another Nokia N series phone, also a bit expensive.

I went back to the older iTunes and lost all my apps. MM still crashes. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm afraid of that too and that's why I didn't want to downgrade.
And if MM still crashes after going back, not worth it to even try. I'm betting it's really the new drivers installed that are causing the problem. MM cannot handle the new drivers. This problem started right after they were installed.

I can confirm the problem after iTunes 8.2 update, it will be fixed in the next build.

Thank you for the prompt attention!
I've gone back to using my old Nokia N81 for now. It still works pretty well! But the Ovi Suite won't install so I have to use mass storage. LOL, bugs with everything new!

What a bummer. I upgraded my iTunes, and same deal. As soon as I plug my phone in, MM crashes. iTunes also conveniently deleted all the music from my phone. So now I am going to have to load it back on using that awful program. What a horrible piece of bloatware.

Same thing happened to me, guess I am going to have to use itunes which I hate. Hopefully this will be fixed shortlySuburbancowboy wrote:What a bummer. I upgraded my iTunes, and same deal. When I upgraded iTunes to 8.2.0.23 MM started to crash whenever I connected my iPhone 3G. I upgraded MM to 3.07.1191 but am still getting the same behavior. I'm anxious to have this serious problem fixed.
