1256 WAV album artist chunk ("IAAR") non-compliant[#5932]

Post by chrisjj »

MM saves Album Artist to WAV chunk IAAR whereas iaar is required by the spec (http://www.saettler.com/RIFFMCI/riffmci.html) which specifies lower case for non-standard tags.

This compliance failure causes non-interoperability with e.g. GoldWave (tested on V5.52).

Other non-standard chunks may suffer likewise.

That's odd, because http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5932 reports "Fixed in build 1266".

If fixed in 1266 it should also be fixed in 1282... no?

Because if the fault was fixed in 1282, it wouldn't be verified in 1282. Perhaps Peke meant to write "Fixed in 1282"?

No, it was fixed in 1266. Peke verified the fix using build 1282.
