Aero Taskbar Thumbnail doesn't render properly [#6520]

Post by Dreadlau »

Taskbar Thumbnail doesn't render properly when a custom sized is use.

If I use a bigger thumbnail size on Windows7 than the default one.
The album art showed in the thumbnail preview doesn't resize to a bigger one.
So it leads to this:

Other programs seems to resize correctly.
Firefox:

Paint:

To reproduce:
Change Taskbar Thumbnail Size to a bigger size: I used 512X512 for the screenshots.

How to change Taskbar Thumbnail Size:

Registry:

With an app:

Could someone file this bug on mantis?

It should be easy to reproduce.

Do you need additional information?

I do not wanna sound wrongly but from your pictures I do not see the bug, MM is resizing correctly preserving Aspect Ratio.

EDIT: I see That it would be nice to have customizable option.

What I mean is that the Cover picture isn't resized at all. Look how small it is compared to the frame!
Image
It's as small as if I used the 200X200 default size thumbnails.

While other programs resize the preview to fill up the thumbnail. (expected behaviour)

One thing that would be very nice also is if the seekbar was interactive.
That would be awesome. Very convenient to preview songs for example.

I don't see it either, isn't the thumbnail limited by the title on top and the controls on the bottom?

Its supposed to go to max 512X512pixel. If the preview is a square. The aeropeek should be +- 512X512.
But the mediamonkey aeropeek currently looks more like 512X150.
Ofc the controls shouldn't resize.
But I don't get why the album art picture isn't enlarged to a bigger one.

I hope I explained myself clearly.

Because the album art is a constant size. The same reason why when you use AeroFlip (Win button + tab) that the art is so small.

Exactly my point. I think album art should resize.
And you're right its an issue too in aeroflip.

FYI AeroFlip can be started using WIN+CTRL+TAB and then it will stick when you release keys. Then you can easily navigate/select using ARROW KEYS or TAB/SHIFT TAB.

Didn't know about this trick. Ty for the info.

Btw I saw this: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6113 in mantis.
I'm happy that you're looking in the aeropeek and jumplist functionality.
This will be very good for the user experience in windows7.

I have one suggestion regarding the aeropeek functionality. If it's possible.
