1342: WASAPI doesn't work with HI-res audio

Post by ABM »

The WASAPI plugin of version 4.0.0.1342 (beta) doesn't work properly with Hi-resolution audio, that is .flac files with 24bit/88KHz and above.

For instance, this recording:

The WASAPI plugin must be set to "Exclusive mode" manually (the sampling frequency of the file is not recognized :( ), but afterwards the sound is continuously glitched and very low volume. :-?

I have a M2Tech USB-->S/PDif converter (see: http://www.m2tech.biz/hiFace.asp) which works flawlessy with Foobar 1.1 WASAPI plugin, up to 24bit/192KHz.
SO is Windows 7 32 bit.

All issues seem to be resolved in 1344! :D

New WASAPI control panel allows automatic sampling frequency identification.
I've been testing it for a while in my system, and there seems to be no glitches at all, up to 24bit/192KHz files.
Soft stop, adjustable fade-in (and fade out) and Exclusive mode can be enabled. No clicks between tracks! :P

Great job folks!

Thanks for letting us know, nice to hear that! :-) There was quite a lot of time spent on the development, so it's good that it has happy users now...
