Now playing summary not independent of library view [#8936]

This forum is for reporting bugs in MediaMonkey for Windows 4. Note that version 4 is no longer actively maintained as it has been replaced by version 5.

Now playing summary not independent of library view [#8936]

Post by ed.j »

The summary format for individual files in the now playing list should respect the $viewmode=3 argument, as it is included as the default, but it doesn't. Instead, the summary format in the now playing list is simply equal to whatever is displayed in the library.

For example: (it would be a weird format to use, but it makes the point clear when in use)
$if($viewmode=3,<Artist> - <Title>,$if($viewmode=1,<Year>,$if($viewmode=0,<Title>)))
Should always display:
Artist - Title in the now playing window
Year in the library (if in AA with details)
Title in the library (if just showing details)

However, the now playing window displays either Year, or Title, depending on the library $viewmode. Check out the format in bold for yourself to check.

I recently upgraded to the most recent version and re-wrote all my summary formats, and don't remember this bug in the earlier versions of MM4.

4.0.3.1476, and Lowlander appears to have the same problem.

Thanks for re-opening this Lowlander, it's getting annoying considering it's a vital part of any media player to tell you what you're actually listening to, and for such a basic thing to be called fixed when it clearly isn't is just ridiculous.

Seeing as you guys are online, I'd love a reply to this post: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=64876

Isn't that same issue as the one raised here?

Mostly, yes. I was hoping to get a response re the developer issue - was a bit grumpy yesterday.
