Annoying click
Why am I getting an annoying click either at the start or end of tracks ? I ripped an album then burned a CD with sleceted tracks and some of them now have a click when I play the CD ? What gives ??

Re: Annoying click
Do the original files have this artifact? Does the artifact occur on different players/CD devices?

Re: Annoying click
No, the original files don't have the click or I would have expected them to ALSO be on the CDs. And whatever device I play the CDs on it has the click

Did you burn an Audio or Data CD? If the latter, any conversion rules or volume leveling applied?

I don't know what is the best way to troubleshoot as I'm not sure a debug log will help.

Re: Annoying click
I think it may be something to do with the album art which I manually added (right click, copy and paste) from Amazon.co.uk as MM's search couldn't find it there even though I did. I think I may have read somewher else in these forums about album art causing problems. It doesn't affect playback of the mp3s in MM.
Can I suggest someone tries it ? Rip a CD that MM doesn't recognise then add an album art picture then burn a CD.

Re: Annoying click
I've discovered it's at the end of each track (not the start), and it doesn't happen on mp3s only CDs

						Re: Annoying click
It sounds to me like it could be caused by issue 9672. Please try to convert some of the affected files to WAV (instead of burning audio CD from it) and test, if the click is present in this WAV, thanks.

I think, I have found the problem (http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8902), it should be ok in 4.0.7.

Re: Annoying click
My problems have now got worse as I cannot play a CD if I burn it using MM, tried twice now and won't play on any device. In fact the disc is completly empty the burn has not worked

						Re: Annoying click
Hi, that strange, there was no change in the burning area, you say that disc is completly empty, isn't it just that you selected burn action "Test" instead of "Burn" on the last page of the Burn Wizard? Test means that it just simulates burning.

Re: Annoying click
I have also noticed this problem, e.g. a slight click or pop between tracks.
I have just burned an audio cd from 320 mp3's using MM 4.0.7.1506 and the "pop" has got worse and is much more noticeable

Burned the same tracks using another burn engine (Roxio) and no "pops" so it is MM which is "popping"
I also tested by converting a couple of tracks to wav and no clicks or artefacts found
(Using MM to convert & Audacity to test)
I do have "On the fly burning" enabled and "level volume" (89db) selected.
I am using "Disk at once" option but I have noticed the same problem previously using "track at once"
I hope this can get sorted out as its a real P.I.A. to keep swapping burn engines/programs
