MM 4.0.5 issues with CD rip

Post by luna »

Updated to the new version and had no problems until I tried to rip the new CDs I got today. They rip to a tiny file size that contain nothing. Opening the file registers the full song length, but it will silently "run" through a four minute song in about three seconds. This happens no matter the file format. I also tested using CDs that I ripped with the previous version, with the same results.

Is anyone else having a similar problem? Any ideas?

You should create a debug log (step 4b) covering a failed rip and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

It is strange as there weren't any disc handling changes in 4.0.5 except when 'Verify ripped tracks' is enabled.
Does the failure happen when 'Verify ripped tracks' is disabled?
What was your last working version prior to 4.0.5?

Further observation here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 93#p340792 shown that it is related to 64bit operating systems.
Can you confirm that you have 64bit OS?

But the really strange thing is that the user from the upper forum post noticed that it occurs only with Secure mode.
Does it happen only with secure read mode for you or even with standard read mode?
