Here are a couple of bugs I've noticed while viewing albums in the Album Art view (tiled):
1. Single clicking to the area to the right of all the album art (not clicking on ANY album art), but still within the album art window, causes the album art that is in the top row, third from the left, to be highlighted. Additionally, double-clicking in this same area will start playback of that particular album. I think clicking in this region of the window should actually deselect any selected albums. Additionally, double-clicking in this area should not begin playback of any albums.
2. When right-clicking on album art in this view, the menu that is displayed is the same as when right-clicking on a song/album title/artist/etc, instead of the album art properties menu. However, a second right-click on the same album art will bring up the desired album art properties menu.

I was not able to reproduce the bug #1, but if you double clicked an album, shouldn't it behaviour in a different way of single click? Double clicking to deselect something is not a "natural" interface.
I personally think that clicking within the album art window, even if out of the album art image, should select that album.
I also prefer the way bug#2 behaviours today. I do not always need to view the album art properties menu and the first right click on the album (at any part of the album) is nice. Also, the album art picture occupies over 70% of the space of the album. If I can only use the others 30% to use daily features, like playing the album, then I might abandon this view.

As far as bug #1 goes, maybe I should include a picture. I'll do that when I get home tonight.
Basically, I agree with what you said, however, when clicking (or double-clicking) in an area of the screen that doesn't contain any information, I don't think anything should happen at all, besides the current highlighted selection being deselected.
For example, when typing in this text box for posting to the message board, there is a cursor present. However, when I click outside of the text box, to the right, the cursor disappears (i.e. is "deselected"). When I double-click in the same area, nothing happens. This is the type of behavior I would expect in the situation I described in bug #1.
Bug #2 is still frustrating to me. If I am right-clicking on the album art, it's because I would like to edit the album art. Right-clicking elsewhere (album title, artist, song list, etc.) should bring up the longer preferences menu.
Pictures to demo bug #1 to come later.

OK, here's a screen capture of bug #1 listed above:
The highlighted album (Odelay) was highlighted when I clicked next to Pet Sounds. If I double-click next to Pet Sounds (don't ask why anyone would do this), Odelay begins playing.
Granted, this bug doesn't really affect usability, but I still believe MediaMonkey is doing something that it shouldn't.

Ah, now I was able to reproduce the same behaviour. It does select, actually, the second album from right to left, of the line above. I know that because I have 8 album arts in each row and if I reduce MM width it is always like that.
As bizarre as it feels, it is like an easter egg (without any prize). (Double)Clicking in this area is like (double)clicking over the album... or at least that is the final result, since it is visible MM selecting the first album (right to left) and then moving to the album next to it.
And I agree, clicking there should have the same behaviour as clicking outside this text box: nothing but losing focus.
