Mass CD Burning for DJ Purposes

Post by aireq »

I dj and all my music is either downloaded from various sites (beatport.com, junodownload.com etc..) or recorded from older vinyl. I've been using media monkey to organize everything but I need to burn tracks to actual CDs so that I can play them on my CD-Js (Pioneer CDJ-800). So I have a couple questions.

First is there an easy way to track which tracks I've burned to a CD and which track I haven't? I was thinking about just numbering my CDs by genre. So I would say have House 1, House 2, and House 3 CDs. Just as I could also have a Trance 1, Trance 2, and Trance 3 CDs. My first idea was to save playlists for each CD I make and then create a filter in magicnodes to filter out or filter only tracks in a playlist. Is there a better way to do this? What about the Virtual CD node? I exactly understand what the Virtual CD function is suppose to do.

Once I burn one of these CDs I want to print a label for it. When Media Monkey burns a CD I can have it burn CD Text. Are there any scripts out there that will automatically print a label? What about an external program that will read the CD-Text and generate a label?

1. I suggest that you use one of five(three in MM2.x) Custom Tag Fields for that, and then Use Magic Node for creating Burned Tree Nodes

2. VirtualCD Cache Tracks on CDs to local HDD dedicated folder so that you do not need to insert CD and listen song. Basicaly VirtualCD track is handled like source but it is read from Cached location if Source Track is not available.

3. For all printing of Audio CDs I use CDRLabel which read CD-Text without problem. You can also use File->Create Report scripts to export Selected tracks.

Nice Device, as you burn Audio CDs I guess that you do not have Mk2 Model and MP3 Support :( I used to play on CDJ-700 in one club I worked.

Ok I'm trying to use CDR label. Is there a way to get it to print the artist in the track listing?
